    I've been struggling with fertility and hormones, and had to see a fertility specialist to get pregnant at all. After loss after loss, we stopped going for a while. I went keto for just like.... 3 weeks and after week 1 felt a drastic body stasis shift. We "mysteriously, naturally" got pregnant! It's been a miracle in my life! Leaning more ketovore now, even lower sugar. But still listening to my body ❤ congrats pregnant girls! 💪💪

    You should take the folate at least several months BEFORE you get pregnant. My daughter started taking it when she found out she was pregnant - and it was too late. The great arteries split even before you know you are pregnant - split wrong and you have a blue baby. My grandchild was totally healthy except for transposition of the great arteries. We couldn't save her. When we researched causes of this - not having enough folate - well, we try to let others know this. May not be as critical if you are eating lots of eggs, I don't know.

      @@Magickfae an Amish doctor we went to asking what the Amish women took - they have huge families with much fewer problems that the regular population has - he said that when the Amish women get married they recommend taking a kelp capsule every day for life - When you think about it - this is a natural source of lots of the things women need to have healthy babies - it is definitely in the can't hurt category.

    Is menopause a side effect of crappy eating? I'm 52 and when I'm eating PhD, I have no symptoms. If I eat carbs, I'm hot flashing, emotional, sweats, just overall feel shitty. Can you please do some talks on this?

    • @lf7065
      @lf7065 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Menopause happens to every woman, eventually. Has nothing to do with diet.
      Hotflashes can be triggered by a sharp rise and drop of blood sugar because it activates the adrenal glands. In my own experience, I feel much better on LCHF at this stage in my life.

    Im a fluffy lady and started doing intermittent fasting about a year ago. I did 12-17 hour fasts and I wasn’t having results. About a month and a half before getting pregnant i started fasting 17-20 hours. I was told by a midwife that I needed to start eating breakfast and those were the only days I had morning sickness. It wasn’t just right after eating, it was all an day reaction of nausea.
    I’m 12 weeks and 6 days and still fasting. Now shifting into lower carbs and thinking about going back to keto. Both of my parents have Diabetes and I’m anxious about having gestational diabetes. I’ve been watching my glucose levels like a hawk and I noticed I can’t have rice or noodles. I really appreciate all of the information in this video. ❤

    I took a prenatal that had folate. I am now taking a post natal vitamin. Ill always take the pre/postnatal vitamins because my body is severely deficit if i don't. Pregnant or not. I think it all depends on each individual and where they're at in their pregnancy and health journey & that its ok to take high quality vitamins. 😊

    If you are GD and weren't keto before pregnancy can you start being keto or ketovoir? Or will that stress your body too much which in turn will affect the baby? Because the MFM office is saying not to go low carb and to eat at LEAST a 175g of carbs a day and eat three big meals and three snacks. And it's a big no no to skip any of those despite me just not being hungry some days. I just don't see how that will help manage the GD without meds (which I'm desperately trying to avoid.). Especially when I wasn't eating that many carbs, and only eating when I was hungry before I was told I had GD.
    And side note question..... What are your thoughts Raspberry leaf tea?

      I just had my second kiddo. Keto before pregnancy, couldn’t stick to it during-extreme meat aversions and sickness the whole time. Still limited carbs if I could but ate all the carbs if that is what I could keep down. Post pregnancy I’m transitioning back to keto slowly do o don’t impact my milk supply. No GD even though they tried hard to diagnose it. I was never diagnosed with it but was given a low carb menu when admitted for labor…a joke. Each meal was close too 100 carbs. I brought my own keto snacks (nuts/protein drinks) and didn’t eat the carbs they served me. My A1C went from 5.5 to 5.1 during pregnancy and fasting glucose was 85. I had ketones in my urine often and my Keto-Mojo showed my blood ketones never went below 0.2. Try to eat healthily if you can and focus on baby.

      Hey. I guess you haven't got the HG now! but during I lecture I listened to regarding the consumption of ruminant organ meats, there was a lot of anecdotal evidence that said you can avoid the worst nausea etc by eating organ meats before and during your pregnancy. Even a mum of twins reported much less nausea in early pregnancy when including those foods in her diet. (can take them in capsule form, tasteless and totally palatable). Not a doc, but thought you'd be interested.
      I am currently 9w pregnant and I can tell when I've forgotten my beef organ capsules. I feel a lot more nausea and tiredness!
