Your left hand work is bad ass. Seeing this gave me greater appreciation for how technically difficult this song actually is to play. I always loved this song, but wow!
@09Mask thanks! Its quite a strange bass part given the multiple bass parts recorded on the studio version. I like how he adapted it for a live performance. Thanks for watching!
Every few weeks I find myself coming back to give this a listen - the number of views is criminally low!! the tone at 2:16 is beyond sublime. thanks so much for posting :))
@bogusmole thanks for watching! Thats very kind of you. I'm happy that anyone watches my channel tbh haha. Was expecting to get 50 views a video when I started the channel...
Hell yeah! Great playthrough, as always, but I was so pleasantly surprised by you adding the live bass breakdown part and it wedged so neatly between the studio recording. Love that you give the harder/somewhat overlooked Rush cuts some love. Well done. :)
Rush is a top 3 band for me. My first concert, and they were some of my biggest inspirations and influences to play music. Phenomenal job on this cover! Sounds great, and love that you’re playing the same Fender Jazz bass that Geddy plays! Keep up the great work man! Big 👍
@jacknicksoln5966 ill probably do some different albums for the next few. I'll come back to t4e for another song eventually though haha. Thanks for watching
@extremeteatime8663 I think there was a thing with copyright for the past few days. I imagine it will get sorted soon. Seems like most if my videos were not affected though
When I try to dial in this type of aggro tone on my jazz bass with a Tech21 YYZ pedal most of what I get is just ear-piercing fret clack and it's just not...pleasant. I can see you're absolutely wailing on the strings just like Geddy, and I'm trying to emulate that. Is it a technique thing that I'm missing? Or is there some EQ I'm missing out on?
Without seeing/hearing your sound I can't really say. I definitely have a lot of treble on my sound, but I turn it down if the fret slap is too loud. Distortion also helps make that sound a bit nicer too. Glad you like my sound though, thanks
One of my favorite bass heavy dirty tones songs ever. Test for echo was criticized allot but this song slaps
@Drummershy cheers dude. Yeah I think it's a really good album. Bass tone is my fav of the studio albums
Excellent cover as always. The breakdown/solo section was awesome! I’m always impressed how you nail the attack Geddy uses.
@@jonnyfive8319 thanks. Definitely always tried to imitate his right hand aggression
Incredible playing!!!

Awesome playing Hemi. I agree, the live (Different Stages Album) version is better than the studio version.
Yeah the Different Stages and Rio version are great for this song. Thanks for watching
Great sound! Like the new multiple camera angles!
