I guess I'll try it when it has a bit of a modding community and is on some kind of a discount, haven't played any of the previous instalments though so I might just do that for now.
I totally recommend the prior games, especially Origins. Some do not like 2, though I thought it was good when you focus on the story. Waiting on the modding scene is pretty reasonable!
No, unless I can play the game without the companion characters for just the core story. The companions are nothing like the previous games. Boils down to just that.

You mean the hand-selected access-journalism corporate companies (save a rare few independent reviewers) who repeated scripted talking points in their reviews alongside an organized media campaign in an effort to try and recoup bloated development costs? "hateful review bombers"? You mean the vast majority of actual players who are angry about the indescribably terrible writing, the atrocious character design, the non-stop cringe, the ham-fisted socio-political commentary, the boring repetitive combat, the complete disregard for legacy characters and story arcs, the total shift in tone from dark fantasy to generic hollywood blockbuster high fantasy, the banal party members, the removal of meaningful player choice & consequence, and the overall betrayal of the DA legacy? Give me a freakin' break. I'm a hardcore DA fan and I couldn't even force myself to make it halfway through this dumpster fire of a game. This game is legitimately terrible. It's heartbreaking.
I have admittedly not gotten too far into it due to work. Good to know that returning the game since I'm still in the window could be a reasonable option!

@@deusfortier5635 Completely understandable. We'll have to see what I think of it as well. A strong appearing intro does not mean a good game. Mods can also only take a game so far
I would be so pleased to see mods that enhanced the Veilguard's character creator in ways where it is falling flat.

I’d say if it goes down to 10$ and is under 60gb I’d probably fuck around with it and possibly rip the 3d models out of it to use elsewhere
