Many thanks, yes it took a while to work this one out - we even went back on a second day for an additional shot, which was the clean door opening (luckily weather was the same and we matched angle of shadows)... Trial and error is key!
Fantastic. I don't think my laptop could handle all the editing in this one 😂 am happy when I just add two of me in one shot lol. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
That's an impressive effect for a budget production, makes it look like a bigger (more expensive) stunt. It's so quick that I don't think anyone will notice that reflections don't work that way 🤣
seriously better quality than most cable tv productions, I would love to see you do a video breaking down client pricing on a shoot like this with all your gear, and editing time there is not enough appreciation for the amount of work that goes into even simple and mediocre video production, all the graphic, motion tracking, color, and rotoscoping work for a 40 second scene the time of 3 grips you should be billing thousands for your production quality. nice work.
omg its so tedious, and you actually did the scenes. the stitches cleanup / merging also really good/clean. the colors needs more work but its already good
nice work!!! only one thing the reflection on the car window should not be mirror 6:42 it should move in the same direcction right to left and should be actualy reflecting the front side of your face, but it goes so fast you wont notice it!!! i actually only noticed when you where explaining the edit!!!! keep up the good work!!!!
Loved this, would be really cool if you could blend it with your portal tutorial so you jump to another dimension as if you had noticed some sort of rip in time-space before you left the car :)
Beautifully and cleverly done. I’ve been meaning to get into AE more as I tend to do things in Apple Motion and within Final Cut Pro X itself. Seeing stuff like yours is inspiring
Some great work, Steve! It's amazing how much you can get away with in these action shots. Masks, blurs, a cut here, some rotation there... TADA! LOL Well done! I haven't tried anything to fast moving... most of my SFX work has been for when it's just my son and I playing multiple roles. But those have worked out pretty well! You've raised the bar!!!
As a visual effects guy I really like this guys techniques :) used rotobrush and rotoscoping a lot over time, and i know it can be tiring getting those shots you need. It's great fun when you see the final result. Whereabouts in the UK you located? Looks like my way York
Good enough for sure. Only jarring thing is the camera suddenly stops moving. Should have done a take of you rolling on the ground where the camera moves over you as it slows down.
I am interested in your AE essentials, however, I am new new never done anything, looking to start a course somewhere, still investigating. However, I love your videos and will return to learn from you after I had taken some kind of course. I am looking to make this a career change and get out of the workforce, any advice would be appreciated. I am 59 years old and don't have the time to look down the road 10 years from now. Thank you
Cool… thank you for this video. I think your reflection on the car window have to start from the other side. 🤔 I see that you live in the Uk 🇬🇧 far from London?
@Sabelo Lucky to be honest I’m just sticking with prem pro as I’ve just started getting the nack of it ! It’s not been easy lots of TH-cam videos and trial and error !
STEVE... before I buy my new MacBook Pro... What do you think I should have in this computer? What would you suggest? How much Ram... Memory etc Thank you for your help.
In the 6:56 minutes, added the car door is still open. If not, the time of ceett is closed the car door in an instant. But good job for you... Thank you for the best hard tutorial, but maybe it can be easy tutorial. 😂😂😂🙏🙏🙏
We need to see Steve's action movie he made when he was 17
Yes we do
Innit
I want to SEE it too.
That must have taken a lot of thinking and planning! Excellent execution on this!
Many thanks, yes it took a while to work this one out - we even went back on a second day for an additional shot, which was the clean door opening (luckily weather was the same and we matched angle of shadows)... Trial and error is key!

Many thanks, very kind!
Your grandpa is a legend for helping you out with another video!

The dislikes on this video were just people who have no appreciation for skill and dedication, I loved this!

hey you should make a combination of the window smash plus jumping out the running car
(smashing the window and jumping out of the running car)
Plus hospital haha 😂

Wow!! Fantastic!
I want to watch that old movie you made. I like seeing people having fun together making something cool
Your best one yet, Steve. Fantastic job.
Very kind!
That was so good man 😍🔥
Fascinating stuff man, great job 👏
Wow! This may be your best video yet. It's pretty advanced (in my opinion), but very well done. I may try this effect myself sometime.
Many thanks! Yes it was pretty tricky but fun :)

Many thanks, just trial and error and simple tools :)
Love it!
Bravo on the tutorial and stunt effect!

Absolutely genius stuff, Sam. I have subscrided.
love your videos!
One of these days, I hope to see a feature film "directed by Steve Ramsden," and I will so be here for it.
Awesome work. Maybe a color correction on the door window? It's so brief but it's possibly too bright or not blue enough?
You're very good bro! Congratulations!
Waaauuuw bro! You're so amazing
Brilliant job, the only thing bugging me is the reflection when exiting the car. It wouldn't be reflecting from the opposite direction.
Amazing brother
Good job man keep going 🌻♥
Really good effect. The window reflection goes the opposite way, though...
Wow that was amazing
Fantastic work and so much attention to detail!! Me and my crew just do it for real 😅
