The difference in features between the top and bottom models are next to nothing but cost $20k. They are asking for you to pay for heated seats? Heated seats are standard on a Transit Van. The thinking persona choice here is a Tesla Model Y.
Torque is probably the bigger factor. CX9 only has 170nm for example, but huge torque figure, hence why it is quite effortless. I think this will be just fine.
Oh yeah the Germans would easily push 300kw out of this engine size. But this is a Japanse car it supposed to be reliable also when using it for 10y or longer. German cars aren't at all reliable. Believe have one with quite potent 6l engine. What they call a money pit. So this Mazda is on my wishlist, but honestly i also have doubts about this complete new engine for Mazda would have feelded more comfortable with a v6 which they had experience on.

Ride is big issue, and diesel is the winner for performance. As the owner of a diesel 2017 Sorento, i see the Mazda as the only real option for replacement as the Diesel is being dropped by HYUNDAI/KIA.
I think theyve nailed this car. It'll sell in huge numbers.

I have the diesel. It’s fantastic. Although I’m biased. It’s my 5th Mazda.
The design looks rather like it’s been damaged in a side on collision, seems to be a common feature on the newer Mazdas.
I think Mazda might have difficulty selling this at the expected price point.
It appears expensive to me.
