    Cool video. I'm a Gen Xer who grew up on the Friday movies. I agree that The Final Chapter is the best of the franchise. It's not just the cast and the characters either, imo. I've always thought that it was the first of the series that was extremely well directed. It is definitely imo, the best PURE slasher of all time! Just discovered your channel. Gonna check it out some more.

    Man I’m loving these Friday look backs CHH. You have said it before, there is something special about Friday the 13th franchise. I love all of the big franchises but put a gun to my head and I would have to say Friday the 13th is my favourite.

    The way you are nostalgic about buying those DVDs, I am nostalgic about going to K-Mart and purchasing them on VHS tape. But Friday the 13th is most definitely in my DNA.

    Def in agreement that Final Chapter is the best. Me and a friend snuck around and watched his Dad's VHS taped copy off HBO or something, somewhere around 11 to 13ish age range. And he lived in the woods, right next to a pond, with a little dock and a little rowboat similar to the canoe from the original film. Imagine that.

    Absolutely my favorite Friday and favorite version of Jason. Jason tends to be somewhat clumsy sometimes in the movies, except this one. He is so brutal and agile, nothing can stop him.

    I just subbed! Fridays the 13th was a big part of my life in the 80s. Friday the 13th Final chapter is the best of all of them. Its the pinnacle of slasher films. Great video

    It is my favorite of the bunch. Was lucky enough to see it opening weekend back on April 14, 1984. I was 12 years old and went with my friend and his mom and her boyfriend. Theater was over sold and we ended up siting on the balcony stairs to watch it. Scared the hell out of me.

    The Final Chapter was ironically the first chapter I ever saw and, in my opinion, definitely the best of the franchise.

    I remberering it being the end of 3rd grade(1984), and The Final Chapter was the talk of the playground. I met Ted White twice, once with Judie Aronson. Both were super nice. However, the idea of angry Ted White/Jason chasing after me on a rainy night is terrifying.

    I saw part 2 first, as a young kid and was totally hooked. Much like you my older brother said that part 4 (and part 3) were the best ones. But they were not available at my local VHS stores. I saw 3 and 4 last, and definitely loved them ! Friday the 13th my absolute favorite horror franchise. Awesome video !!

    I absolutely agree as a life long Friday the 13th fan and being 45 years old myself, the Final chapter imo is the best of the series. Part 6 is my second favorite. Both Ted white and CJ Graham are my favorite Jasons as well.

    I saw the first 3 on VHS after recording them from a neighbor who had them. I would watch them over and over again. Then part 4 came out. I went to see it in theaters with this same neighbor and we had a blast as this was the final chapter. This is my favorite Friday.👍

    Dude, your experience is an interesting parallel to mine. I thought The Final Chapter was part 8, before I was old enough to watch any of them, and was just looking at the VHS covers in my local video store. Fun fact...I learned roman numerals as a kid, not because of my teachers, but because of browsing the F13 franchise at the vid store. I knew that when I was old enough to watch them, I wanted to watch them in order, and I didn't know how to read roman numerals...but boy, did I figure it out. Final Chapter was the only one with no roman numeral, and it also took me a minute to realize that Jason Goes To Hell was about the same Jason from F13. Since they both had "Final" in the title and I knew JGTH came out later, I figured it was part 8 BEFORE I learned how to read roman numeral 8, and then I finally had my spooky s#!t together. So who says all that trash entertainment your elders warned you about can't be educational LOL?

    This is the first Friday film I ever saw when I was in the third grade. It blew me away. I was both terrified & instantly hooked on the franchise. I went with The Final Chapter since a friend from my class at school said it was the best. I can still remember riding my bicycle to the local tiny video store to rent it and the staff asking me if my Mom was alight with me renting the movie being 8 years old at the time. I said Yes my Mon was good with it and that was enough for them to let me rent it. That was 1987. I’ve been a Friday the 13th fan ever since and The Final Chapter is still my favourite Friday movie.

    Hey Teddy where is the CORKSCREW????????? Why you put that into your computer Mr Teddy Bear?????......Lol bro you did this film justice and this series was totally part of my coming of age I cannot begin to describe the feeling I would get when the Paramount mountain logo would come on the TV screen every couple years or maybe just one year would pass on some of the entries and then the iconic composition of Manfreni would start playing and I would be glued to the TV and then left speechless and scared to death of what was coming...........yeah man 3 and final chapter had to be the scariest Jason ever I mean the way the prosthetics were done by Winston and Savini without computer help was just genius I do not think we will ever see the likes of this creativity again although the 2009 I thought was well done. I think I was 14 when Final Chapter came out and me and my Mom believe it or not she is a huge fan as well went to the theater and people were cheering for Tommy folks stood up and everything and when the ending came and Tommy opened his eyes every one was like Ohhhhhhhhhhhh and you were just ;left with a gut wrenching feeling........great Job man on the review you really hit a home run I am good friends with family of the ranch where part 3 was filmed and was in the video on here called Higgins Haven Filming locations video I cant begin to describe the feeling of being in the iconic Barn and is still standing some kids burned the cabin down but the family is trying to rebuild it. Good job my friend - One Love from your buddy Heath

    I don't use the term perfect slasher often but The Final Chapter is a perfect slasher. Ted White was incredible scary in this Friday. This was the last Friday the 13th that scared the shit out of me. After this I became a fan of seeing Jason win so every one after part 4 was watched from a different spectrum.

  • @Jaykilljoy-tt9tt
    @Jaykilljoy-tt9tt 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I've watched the Friday series in multiple ways.
    Just one of the movies as a stand alone. Sometimes I'll watch part 5 and 6 together.
    I've also watched Part 1-7 in a row.
    Part 4, I don't know why but My grandfather had all Friday movies except for part 4 and Jason goes to hell. This was before X and FvsJ.
    And so I didn't see part 4 until like 5 or 6 years later.
    Crispin Glover and Cory Feldman is kind of a "That's cool. I didn't expect that." welcomed addition to the cast.
    I truly do find the Friday the 13th franchise intriguing as a franchise, because it is very different then other franchises. Kane Hodder talks about the "Jason always looking different" and saying "The fans don't give a sh*t. They just want to see Jason." The fact that we see multiple different versions of Jason each movie is part of the fun! And you also get a natural evolution of the character, that was probably accidental but also intentional. Accidental in that it wasn't planned, and intentional as in "I want to bring something new to the character". Part 4 is definitely when Jason evolves into a full blown confident killer. In part 2 and 3, he seemed a bit stand offish, an amateur. Part 4, he won't back down at all. He goes straight for the jugular. It brings a new intensity to the character in my mind, then in part 6, him being a literal zombie brought a new intensity and fun to the character and movies.
    There are a lot of people who think "The characters in Friday films are not very likeable." and I always say "Really? I don't think i've ever seen a Friday film that had unlikeable characters." except for Freddy vs Jason, but that doesn't count,lol. Now, some films have more interesting characters then others. Like part 5, but overall. The characters in friday films are always likeable and the whole "Their sex and drugs" that's another thing I love about the Friday films. That's one of the best things about part 4 in particular. They just want to party and have a good time. I root for them. I'm fully on their side. That's part of the vicarious thrill. When I watch these movies, I see my self in the characters. I can easily see my self being murdered by Jason,lol., Joe Zito said he wanted to get across the idea of "premature death" in the film and it definitely is there. Eddie and Maddy I can definitely relate to in part 7, that insecure, nerd, too imaginative type.
    So ya, great characters all around. Great Jason, great kills. Great intensity. Great evolution of Jason. Great "Good old family friendly sitcom family next door" vs the "Let's party, enjoy our youth teens moving in for a week of fun" theme to the movie.

    due to mostly seeing these from my local VHS rental store in the late 80's my order for having seen them is likely: 6, 7, 1, 4 or 5, 4 or 5, 8 (came out right after i got into these), 2 or 3, 2 or 3, then 9. the video store had broken or stolen or lost parts 2 and 3 (and it took them a while to replace, a few years) for the majority of the time it was open so i probably saw all others that existed multiple times before i saw 2 and 3.

    • @jasonbatteiger2421
      @jasonbatteiger2421 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yep, we as kids also had to figure out that part 4 was part 4 from process of elimination, i remember that (also one of us probably smart enough to have checked the years released on the back).

    • @jasonbatteiger2421
      @jasonbatteiger2421 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      and yep, i checked, the knife shown on the box in parts 4 and 7, that's the scream (the movie series) knife, the buck 120. super cool looking knife, but for real world purposes, a horrible one for murderers like in scream or here, the grip is slick/slippery, looks really cool but isn't the best for functionality, be far better off using say a kabar for these type purposes (high action murdering etc)

    • @jasonbatteiger2421
      @jasonbatteiger2421 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      esp for the variety of ghostfaces in the screams, who are pretty much in every one of those movies shown to be just a regular person, they get knocked off stairs, have doors bashed into them, stuff thrown at them, fought off numerous times, have to run, fight with their victims etc. the buck 120 would've simply fallen out of their hands very often, gloves would help of course, but it's still just a really slippery handle.

    5 might be my favorite for being the most distilled version of everything the franchise is about. It’s so sleazy and mean. It doesn’t even matter to me that it’s not really Jason in it. That actually just makes it more interesting on some level. However The Final Chapter is so good that it’s right up there with it. I’m curious to see if you’ll ever positively cover 5.

    My favorite is the first...not just the best in the series, but just about the greatest slasher movie ever made(along with Halloween). But I love pretty much all of the original series. The Final Chapter is great, but for me, it stands out more in terms of sex appeal than the usual things. This one features quite a group of female specimens. The one who gets killed in the flotation raft remains my personal favorite of the series.

    2 and 3 are the best because Steve Miner directed them, he peaked in 3 with that one being perfect although 2 will always be my favorite because of the acting performances and the complexity of the film. 4 brings back Tom Savini so you once again get his special effects and it has some real stars in it but the film as a whole isn’t as good as the previous three but is still a must own and is on a level high above later installments like the previous entries.

    I laughed watching this love letter to Friday, than watching old clips of siskel and ebert hate the film. I think on one hand, you can’t objectively argue that the Friday the 13th films are quality cinema. On the other hand, emotionally you can really love the myth of Jason’s universe and just ride with it.

    Here is an interesting tidbit. Rotten tomatoes, which isn’t the be all of anything, has the movies ranked by score. I naturally knew that the films weren’t going to be well received. But, I thought the audience score would be higher for each. I was really wrong! All except for the first one, received poor audience scores. Aren’t these films super popular with the general audience? That literally threw me off

    The Final Chapter is one of my favorite's also even though I love part two it's the perfect sequel to the original and I'm a big fan of part Seven also Ted White definitely brought something extra to the role and he was a terrifying Jason I remember hearing about the actress being cold and Ted complaining about it plus he couldn't stand Corey Feldman I wish we could get a uncut version of the film but I know that's not going to happen what happened to the Paramount Steelbooks for Friday The 13th I thought we would get a part five so far I haven't heard any news about that it's not my favorite in the series

I really don't get how Tommy went from a smart little boy to a idiot that digg's up a dangerous serial killer . who was already dead when you kill them in the first place . he should had known Jason would come back if you dig him up 😂 .

    My favourite of the series has to be part 6. As much as I like it though, I do think it’s a little too comedic in places. The worst is the “do you think I’m a fart head” scene. CRINGE
