He speaks exclusively with Bloomberg’s Joe Weisenthal in Des Moines, Iowa. (Michael Bloomberg is also seeking the Democratic presidential nomination. Bloomberg is the founder and majority owner of Bloomberg LP, the parent company of Bloomberg News.)

Harden J.I.D 🙄 wrong. His policies are the opposite of regressive and would do more to lift people out of poverty than ANY of the other candidates plans, including Bernie’s $15/hr minimum wage (which only helps people working traditional jobs, NOT disabled, retirees.... caretakers... the list goes on) or FJG (which only helps people willing/able to work, and work for the government) - The Value Added Tax would exempt basic goods like groceries, baby care items etc for the exact purpose of guarding against it being regressive. Everyone would be getting $1K/month free and clear (UNTAXED, again unlike Bernie’s $15/hr which IS taxed and AFTER taxes is less). $15/hr also hurts small businesses, places the burden on business instead of government, and employers will compensate by cutting hours, and jobs. And the $15/hr will be limited by what hours employers are willing and able to afford to give.
Honestly, its kind of ridiculous how uninformed most people who attempt to argue against these ideas- they are the very best that we have in the field.
You also have to look at a candidate and their policies in their TOTALITY, you can’t just base the decision off of one isolated policy. Other progressive candidates presumably Bernie or Warren? Their plans might be great, but not if they all hinge on one critical point of how they are going to pay for it, and they are claiming to be able to do that with the wealth tax. Unfortunately, the wealth tax has been tried and FAILED in Germany, France, Denmark, and Sweden. You know what worked???? The Value Added Tax they replaced it with. And Andrew Yang is the ONLY candidate who knows that, and has informed his plans accordingly.
He is also the only candidate with a viable climate change plan that includes nuclear power which we absolutely do need to get off of fossil fuels ASAP. And if we dont get that into place ASAP? Now and not later in 4-8years because then it will be too late? We will be fucked if we dont get this man to work for us in the White House.
Bernie wont touch the issue of nuclear power, its too controversial politically. Yang isnt doing what is most convenient or expedient politically, he is doing what he knows is best for America and the world- trying to make it a safer place so that his two young boys (one of whom is autistic) will be OK, and so that we will all be OK.
Right now, we are Not OK, and we wont BE OK unless we get Yang’s policies in action.
This is why Im Yang or Bust. Nothing will matter anymore anyway if we don’t get him. Climate Change and Automation is going to screw us royally if we don’t make the right moves now.
Things will only get worse without Yang. With Yang, we have some hope.

The ending really resonated with me. The fact that he is a real outsider who really didn't want to be president, but felt that he had a moral obligation to be one in order to address the biggest challenges of our time. He's the type of guy who's not monetary driven and just such a humble guy. He's fighting for a bigger cause. The others are just fighting to win and be presidents. Yang's doing this for us and his kids.

If you look at money as doggie treats for humans, then you would define work only as the value you can generate for your corporate owner. But if you think of money not as doggie treats but as the fuel that runs society, you'd realize that work is simply whatever it is you're doing to benefits society. Doggie treats people think parenthood is not work because it doesn't benefit a corporate owner. UBI people think raising a child is one of the best ways to better society. So is volunteering, mentoring, caretaking, teaching. All things Doggie Treats people think are almost valueless compared to investment banking or corporate middle management paper pushing. UBI fuels the real work society does. The things that matter. The things that have value right inside your community.

I would say I'm Libertarian and agree with Yang's idea on UBI in how it can help stimulate the economy by giving power directly into the hands of the American people. Politicians either try and give corporations more power or government more power. Yang is giving the people more power with his policies which I think is the most American thing one can do. What are your thoughts on all this?

Alex Jay Call center jobs, truck driving jobs, retail workers...these are just a few massive industries that employ massive amounts of people. I think you always get the best stuff from an enthusiast, Andrew Yang doesn’t want to have to be president (if that makes any sense) but he feels as though it’s his civic duty. A genuine, enthusiastic, and intelligent person can do wonderful things for a country. YangGang 2020
