Merry Christmas!
For the big farmer…..4 row planter or cultivator. Very good film. Thanks J and L.
This video was the perfect Christmas gift for me! I'm out in the shop now working on the restoration of my 7080 now.
Merry Christmas to all!
Love the 7080
Wow, have to share my history with AC since you are restoring a 7080. My grandfather bought a WD 45 the year I was born in 1953. He farmed with a WD, CA and WD 45 until 1969. He was part of AO Smith's introduction of the Harvestore silo program, having purchased one of the first 3 demo models. It was in the late 1950's when they replaced those first experimental Harvestores due to problems with the glass lining. I remember forking chopped straw and haylage into the blower while the WD45 worked. I rented the barn and pasture for 5 years and used the WD 45. Then I overhauled a D-17, series4, and with the hydraulic loader, thought I was in the big time. I remember reading old newspaper stories about the AC plant in West Allis WI. Something like 15,000 workers were employed. I remember going to Farm Progress days in WI during the early 80's. There was a JD, IH and AC 6080 plowing. The 6080 was the only tractor that could go through a tough spot in the field. Now that series is going on 40+ years old and you are restoring one. Through my grandfather's eyes, I saw the transition from horses to tractors. Through my eyes, I saw tractors pass the 100 HP level and now over 600 HP What a journey.
Great job as always! I really enjoyed this video. I hope you guys have a great Christmas with your families.
Merry Christmas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Merry Christmas!
Excellent video…👍
Wow !!! They were a bigger company than Deere in the Day!!! Hard to believe they went broke
Thank a Union strike for that.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!! I had a question pop up during the video. Why did AC not pursue the All Crop harvester for their large SP machines? Did the rubber rub bar cylinder not hold up to the demands of the acreage the combines would cover, say.... out west?
They did, they built the model 100 self propelled combine based on the All Crop. Just as it came out AC bought Gleaner and focused on that line for SP combines.
Merry Christmas! Buying Gleaner was definitely the smart move.
@@JandLVideos So, the All Crop design was better off on a small scale?
@ikonseesmrno7300 for pull types it worked. But I've talked to plenty of operators at the Orange Spectacular who've said the Model T Gleaner (which allis discontinued when they bought them) was far better than the all crop 100 which they kept building for that size slot.
@@JandLVideos Thanks for the history, that's just what I was looking for. How long did the pull type All Crop stick around after the Gleaner purchase?
This is unbelievable!! Looks like it was filmed yesterday and the high def is excellent!! Thanks for the videos.
Thank You!
theres a difference between 😊😊 dry tractor weight and field weight 4 tractors when U add weights 2 the front and back wheels 4 more pulling power if U still need more weight U can put antifreeze in the tires thats wet field weight 😊😊 OMG 7 4 2O24
most of of tractor 🚜 😊 equipment then years ago was flat belt U put a flat belt on what U was going 2 pull and the other end of the belt went on the tractor 🚜 😊 belt pulley U tighten the belt and chalked the back tractor wheel then put tractor PTO in gear and let the clucth out and bring the equipment up 2 speed then go 2 work 😊😊 OMG 7 4 2O24
Allis Chalmers was bought by a German company named Deutz tractors in Germany between 1960s to I think to 1975 .
