Green Chopping is a great idea that is rarely seen these days
....J&L I LOVE this film thank you so much for your continued dedication to AC and the great quality films.
Thanks for sharing! That makes sense that's why today more framers are chopping lots of their crops to make it easier for the animals to digest it.
Another great Classic Allis film..
Nice watching these old video's thank you.
Thank you
I love these old videos, keep up the good work.
This is common practice today...
Very few farms have cattle on pasture .
Big corporate farms use feed lots only.
But even midwest farm families use very little ground for pasture.
If you put your acreage into crops the return is so much more than pasturing cattle that trample & compact the soil..
The manure in feed lots save farmers thousands of dollars in fertilizer each year by spreading it on the very ground their feed is grown.
Mike Wallace did an excellent job of commenting
Ever try to green chop alfalfa on a rainy Minnesota morning? Was so glad when we built a new silo and started making haylage, instead. Already had the harvesting equipment we used for corn silage.
Love watching your videos stay safe 🚜
Farming sure has gone to a bigger scale .. A WD-45 sure could do a lot more work than a Team of Horses..
Very fine 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome channel thank you
At the 9:52 mark that must be the first self unloading wagon. Very revolutionary for its time. I wonder what brand it is?
Thanks for sharing! Is anybody doing this these days? How about the rotational grazing methods of Joel Salatin and Greg Judy? Just bought a 50!acre farm
I’d like to hear input from other farmers and their thoughts on the matter. Always willing to learn from others.

These rookie farmers will be ready to graduate to John Deere's soon
Waconia,MN just a few minutes up highway 5
It would seem the farmers would have needed some days reserve for rainy days. I think cutting the pasture grass would have been impossible on rainy days.
Does anyone know the name of the black unloading wagon? Thanks
Does J& l have a website for ordering videos/I have old VHS Allis Chalmers videos like this and want to buy more.
We're working with one of the allis chalmers clubs to maybe release some of them on DVD it kinda got sidetracked with everything that happened this year, stay tuned for more info.
My horses fight over it when I dump the lawn clippings
