I don't plan to do tax work. Mainly the bookkeeping aspect but I also don't want the business to be named "something bookkeeping". I've been thinking of using the word "financial" instead. I don't want to limit the company by name as a non-cpa.
Thanks for all the content. I've been taking lots of notes over the past couple months & I'll go do a weekly linkedin post starting now.

I am all for the creator/slash bookkeeping firm - allowing the business to serve creative side as well.

Good stuff Jason! In the last small firm that I started I tried to be everything to everybody. It didn't work well. Like you, I am just adequate at tax work. I would like to farm out to 3rd party. Would you recommend billing a marked up cost of 3rd party returns?

21:32 this sounds super interesting because on one hand I know what you mean here, yet at the same time I can't really name someone that precisely nails this down in the accounting space, but tons of people come close. I think Brandon Hall is kind of an example of this type of firm, would you agree or am I offbase? the Legal field has tons of people like this though, Law By Mike, Legal Eagle etc

can u go into what a firm that white labels a good chunk of its work like this, would entail? like is the partnership explicitly a referral system of "I will do X, go to Steve to get Y" or is it more telling the client "I will do X and Y" but really Y is being done by Steve and I'm abitraging the price between what Client pays vs what I pay Steve to do the gig?
