I live in a large city, over 5 Million people. This format is just not going to happen here. A typical charging session for someone who does not charge at home will be too long for the facilities that can fit on the footprint of a metropolitan gas station. Public chargers that I see near me are in places like shopping malls, sports and recreation areas, public parks, parking stations etc. where people will be planning to spend some time. Out on the highways, yes, so that travelers may want a comfort stop and maybe a meal before they continue, but having extra attractions that can keep children entertained for 30 minutes or more could do well. The format could also work in the outskirts of cities where incoming travelers may want to top up a little (battery and food/drink/comfort) before heading into the city. People now go to gas stations because they have to. There will be so many charging options that businesses will need to provide a good reason for customers to spend their time and money there.
