Hey, just had the same issue with a driver on the road. Your video helped me solve the issue and get him going. Your video is a tremendous blessing. Thank you for posting.
Thanks again brother... You did a great job finding where the problem was. Some mechanics would charge millions of dollars for for something so simple, and wouldn't even get the problem solved.... Wow.
Your video just saved my a** today I'm a fleet mechanic had a bucket truck broke down on the side of the road at the beginning of rush hour in DC and yep the fuse looked and tested good but that was the problem thank you so much
I have the same issue for a few days and the truck drive me crazy won’t start at all - no transmission 88 code. I checked online and find you here - thank sir so much you save me and my family between $2000 and $3000 (If I went to the shop they will charge this much to just change the fuse). Thanks again and keep doing good work God bless you❤👍💪
Been bit by that before. Fuses that appear ok but aren’t making contact. I always ohm suspect fuses to be sure. I also usually check for power on both sides of fuses when Im hunting problems.
I think my cascadia had this exact problem. A blown fuse for the transmission shifting program (or shifter). 2020 cascadia (happened @ 9000 miles). The fuse was a small gray, blade type of fuse rated @ (10 I think?) amps. $700 fix. If only I knew what the problem was first-hand.
I have a 2016 Cascadia. I parked it last Monday with no issues. Tuesday morning I walk out to start her. Turn the key, wait for bells and whistles and then turn the key the rest of the way….crickets! I ATG in Seabrook, NH is saying it’s my TCM. I wonder if it could be this simple?
Having same fault but the Tcm fuse does have power..grounds good ohms good.. changed harness..got a new TCM but it still doesn’t have communication. Any suggestions please?
I have a 2013 freightliner m2 with the same problem, it won't start and it tells me no transmission and I checked all the fuses and they are in good condition.. what would be the problem
First, I would connect a scan tool to check for any additional codes. Next, completely unplug connectors and inspect for corrosion at the TCM and at the transmission. Make sure the dipstick tube is not leaking on the tranny connector. Finally, validate continuity of wires(including connector pins) for all power, ground, and data in the harness. Good luck..!!
2005 Freightliner century , truck stalled , got low voltage , engine light and engine protect. Replaced all 4 batteries and alternator. Started but turned off after 5 min of driving . It cranks but won’t start unless I spray starter fluid. Had the fuel lines checked and they are clear. Any suggestions or idea ?
I have a food truck. I was at an event yesterday. Started the truck up to leave and transmission wouldn't engage. Then no trans code popped up, then another trans code popped up, then a so engine code popped up. Please help... 2006 freightliner mt45 5.9 cummins with Allison transmission
I have had this problem in our own freightliner too, it kept blowing the fuse light weekly, so I just replaced it with a 15 amp fuse and no more problems.
I got this 2002 Peterbilt 320 rolloff truck and it won't crank at all lights on the dash turn on and no lights pop up on the dash, what can be the problem, I checked fuses, starter, battery cables
So I’ve had this issue before, but it was the 5 amp five going to the tcm after I had the motor washed. But it just did it again a few days ago! The same fuse! What could be causing that????
I had a CPC issue on my 2014 Freightliner Cascadia. After they changed the CPC I now have a "No Trans J1939" that flashes on my dash. Truck starts and drives fine, been driving it for a year like that but I wish I can get that code to permanently go away.
Depends on engine! Grid heaters or glow plugs could cause this. I would lean toward fuel system not holding prime or developing abnormally low pressure.
First, change fuel filters to see if that changes anything! Next, monitor fuel system with scan tool while cranking and running to see how quickly fuel rail pressure is achieved. Make sure low side priming pressure is around 35psi. If rail pressure is achieved quickly that's good. Next, cap injector lines at rail, crank, then watch how quickly the rail pressure bleeds off after you stop cranking. If you see a quick bleed down of pressure that indicates a failing pressure pump. If bleed down is within spec then it is more than likely injector related.
Find the associated power supply wires and check resistance by checking voltage drop. It may be easier to start by cleaning the connector pins with micro round files and then apply dielectric grease and reseat several times.
A failure in Cluster, Trans, or Bulkhead can cause this. Check all connections to those modules! Clean and dielectric grease all involved system connectors, including at the transmission.
It didn’t work on mine. Still nothing. Did this last week and changed the starter and put new batteries in then it worked fine for a week now this bs. I hate trucking
I have the same truck, once i changed the trasmission fluid it started then would shut off after 30 seconds did this 4 times now it wont even turn over with a NO TRANS CODE any idea? Thanks in advance P.S Was working fine before transmission fluid changed
Yes indeed..!! I've seen every kind of fusebox failure, from hairline cracks like this, to fuse bases that don't contact the blade, to burnt circuit board traces.
This guy makes a lot of damage to the harness. Small holes in time makes corrosion and it cost to replace entire harness $3500 Bad bad bad. What ar you duing smart guy

Wow. I like that toner device and what a rare fuse problem that is useful for us to keep in mind in diagnostics.
Genuinely sir thank you, I'm going to name my first child after you
You are a genius man! Same problem. Fuse looks good, but was bad. Ill be damned. Beers and cheers for you mate !!!

good one
Great video thanks 👍
U really made my day and took some worries away 😁👍
I'm glad! Thanks for watching! I'll have several new electrical diagnostic videos very soon!
Thanks for vid
I need to get a toner
It help a lot thank you and god bless you
I appreciate your upload Lee. Did you check to see if that fuse still has continuity?
@@trucle2954 Views.
Fuse had a hairline fracture, so continuity was intermittent testing with a multimeter.

Same issue with mine
It turned out to be my TCM
Which fuse was it and where ?
whats the description of the fuse on ?

Did you figure out your problem. I think I’m in your same situation right now.
Where do you get the diagram?
The diagram can come from many different sources..!! If you pay extra a lot of scan softwares offer schematics..!!
can you share the wire diagrams you used?
Unfortunately I can't..!! That was a few years ago..!! I work for a different company now..!!
No worries. Thanks for responding @@LeeSurber

What toner and tester are the ones you are using, i will be copying you.
Thank you.
I have included affiliate links to all the equipment I use in the video description of most of my newer videos.
@@LeeSurber thank you for your prompt reply. I will check it out.
Thanks again.
This happened to me! Thanks for your video my brother!...✌🏼👍🏼🇺🇸
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
In these case do the truck have power to the dashboard
Yes! There will be power to the instruments!

I had a issue with a 2003 Freightliner fl112
The key ignition kept going bad .
Could it be my relay back in the firewall problem???
I have had this problem in our own freightliner too, it kept blowing the fuse light weekly, so I just replaced it with a 15 amp fuse and no more problems.
I did 30 you think I need to drop to 15 like you
Thanks and God bless you
Thank you too
Where do you buy that toner?
I have provided affiliate links to all the tools I use in my latest video descriptions.
I got this 2002 Peterbilt 320 rolloff truck and it won't crank at all lights on the dash turn on and no lights pop up on the dash, what can be the problem, I checked fuses, starter, battery cables
It could be a lot of things but I would probably check for power and function at the ignition switch!
So I’ve had this issue before, but it was the 5 amp five going to the tcm after I had the motor washed. But it just did it again a few days ago! The same fuse! What could be causing that????
Wire or connector degradation!

excellent, my friend where can I communicate with you I have a similar problem, I would like to hear your opinion
I have same condition but all lights are blinking as-well did you hv light issue?
No lights blinking with this condition! When you say blinking lights are you talking headlights, parking lights, instrument cluster, all lights, etc?
What code were showing on the dash ?
No Trans! I forgot exactly what scan codes were present! It was an intermittent problem!
I do 4 long cranks when cold then it starts I turn it off and can crank it right up what can it be boss?
Depends on engine! Grid heaters or glow plugs could cause this. I would lean toward fuel system not holding prime or developing abnormally low pressure.

Find the associated power supply wires and check resistance by checking voltage drop. It may be easier to start by cleaning the connector pins with micro round files and then apply dielectric grease and reseat several times.
Crank no start 2016 freightliner cascadia
What happened?
2012 cascadia starts but the gauges are not working it’s says no trans the truck won’t move do you know why?
Sounds like the instrument cluster module! You will probably also see a lot of bulkhead module communication codes!
@@LeeSurber Dose that cause the truck not to drive. My cruise control also doesn’t work and it’s flashes F and then N.
A failure in Cluster, Trans, or Bulkhead can cause this. Check all connections to those modules! Clean and dielectric grease all involved system connectors, including at the transmission.

Sorry it didn't work in your case! Electrical issues can be frustrating!
did you say Pete's Diesel?
Pete's Truck & Automotive Hwy 77
always test BOTH SIDES of your fuses with the test light. Visually checking fuses is useless.
@@HerbMoore3 Yes, I always test both sides. In this case, there was an intermittent continuity.
I almost bought a cluster
I have the same truck, once i changed the trasmission fluid it started then would shut off after 30 seconds did this 4 times now it wont even turn over with a NO TRANS CODE any idea?
Thanks in advance
P.S Was working fine before transmission fluid changed
No trans means no connection so it's more than likely in the wiring! It is my experience that is almost always in the connector!
@@LeeSurber ok thanks it was the fuse after all, gues i replaced it with another damaged fuse
God bless you fam
A fuse can appear to look good but not be making a connection
