    Thank you sooo much for your video! I also LOVE Peyote and hate starting it. I have used the Quick Start cards for years for this reason. But what I really learned from your video is and easier way to do the ODD count turn by going under the thread bridge as if doing brick stitch. Why did no one else tell me this?!

    I have always had such a tough time starting peyote too!! Thank you for sharing this- I have to have my starter to attempt peyote! The only difference, I made my starter using one row of ladder stitch and then I used brick stitch- if I had to make a peyote starter using the peyote stitch.... I would truly be pulling my hair out!!! The only thing to remember is that when you start each new row with two beads, go back through them again to reinforce them- I guess you could say, in other words, ladder stitch the first two beads!! Thanks Kara~ you are the best!!

    Thank you so much. I've used peyote starters, but made one for each project (even count). Now I can have one to reuse for both even and odd count. This is so useful. Again thank you.

    Thank you for your excellent tutorial! Could the traditional method of adding a bead in odd count peyote be used with the starter strip? I prefer to avoid having extra thread on the edge. Thank you!

    Kara does🎉the starter have to be in the same beads as the project. Great tutorial thank you

    Why haven't i heard about this!!? Ive never had any wonky issues with peyote, but this looks genius for when i need to start a pattern and its difficult to decipher the chart/where to start. This is awesome! Thank you!

    This is great! Much better than working the first 3 rows (or middle 3 rows) together, using 2 needles.

    Awesome - so happy when I learn a new trick that helps so much. Starting peyote has always been a challenge for me with the thread twisting and the beads end up on opposite sides from where they should be (pattern - different colors). I just have to make the starter and I’ll use less bad language!!!! Thanks. And it’s so wonderful to see you back again and doing these tutorials for all of us. It is greatly appreciated. Have a wonderful weekend.

      Since I started creating patterns, the start just drives me mad with twisting, so I had to come up with smth 🥴

    Hi, Kara. I made your peyote starter and just love it. But I'm having trouble interpreting word peyote charts that have rows 1 and 2 together. Here's a sample: 1&2 (L) 1E, 1B, 1E, 1B, 2E, 2C. How do I place the beads for row 1 only on my starter? Thanks for your help!

    Kara - just had another thought ….. could you make a starter piece for CRAW and PRAW?? I recently learned CRAW but if I drop the piece or take my eyes off of it for a few seconds, I can become so confused about where I was and the position of the beads. I usually have to start over. And it takes 4-5 units for the piece to become stable enough to hold on to. Would you please come up with a tutorial for those????? Thank you again for all your videos on TH-cam.

    You used delicas for the starter, can you use the delica starter to do peyote with regular 11 seed beads?

    • @KarasBeads
      @KarasBeads  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You certainly can. The rule is, make starter with size of beads you are planning to use in the future. If you work with Delicas then you need starter made with delicas. If you work with seed beads, then you need starter made of seed beads

      One is called Even Count Peyote and the other is Odd Count Peyote. They are variations of same stitch. Try google and read up about it - it’s very useful stitch 😊

    Can anyone tell me how to take a traditional even count peyote pattern with the first two rows combined and transfer that over to the starter strip? Do you start with the very bottom row at the bottom of the chart, go away from your starter bead, loading every other bead, then go towards the starter bead with the beads you skipped? Seems like it would be obvious, but I am getting so mixed up how to do it! Thank you for any help.

    • @KarasBeads
      @KarasBeads  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just skip the 1&2 rows and go straight to 3! Will work with no trouble from there 👌
