Saw this video randomly pop up in my TH-cam feed. Excellent video with an enjoyable tale regarding Ra's al Ghul, my second favorite villain from the Bat-verse (Deathstroke is my favorite). Went to Amazon and immediately purchased the book, and I am now subscribed to your channel. Thanks!
Hi, Dave! First off, I want to say that I follow your channel for some time now and I'm a huge fan! I do cocktails for fun, at home. So, I did make this one with vodka and butterfly pea extract for cocktails (because this is all we have here in Southeast Europe, Empress Gin is not available around here). It turned out quite well. I was thinking to top it with Sprite but I didn't. The color was amazing once you poure the lime juice+Cointreau over the already blueish vodka. Thank you for the recipe!
I made it w Empress gin and it was delicious! As you said, very gin forward but the Cointreau and lime add a lovely citrus tang without being too tart!
You summarised that story so dang well.. wow. Would have loved if you acted out Liam Neeson's part too.. those "particular set of skills" 😂 Delicious looking drink.. like a stunning gin margarita. P.S. - shake-smile cam getting better and better!
Been watching your videos for a good few weeks now new to cocktail making oh your drinks look so delicious & pretty 😍 I think I may end up developing an alcohol addicted if I don’t stop watching your videos 😂 just kidding, there amazing & you talk us through them so we’ll looking forward to lots more delicious videos 🤍🤍
Nicholas, The original recipe would have been much lighter in colour, however you are correct. It would be to get the gradient and keep the original spirit strong. But you could shake all the ingredients together to make it easier.
The purple comes from the the gin which contains Butterfly Pea Flower Tea. This ingredient is the dark purple that changes color when citrus juice (lemon or lime) is added. You can use these flowers to infuse gin, vodka, or rum. Or you could make tea with it.
I did not know until today that Gotham City cocktails existed until today, now I must go get a copy just see see what they have for the joker.
Go for it, There is a link in the description if you want to take a look at the book.
That's a nice looking drink. Love the colour. Have a great week.
Thank you! You too!
You also have a “particular set of skills”, Dave. Making hella pretty cocktails! Cheers pal! 🥃
Thank you very much Vino :)
This Cocktail looks good. Your Videos deserve a lot more likes.🎉

I jus made couple of these... out of this world 🌎
Awesome, I'm glad you liked them.
What’s the reason for not shaking all three ingredients? Is it to get the colour gradient when you pour the lime/Cointreau into the gin?
Nicholas, The original recipe would have been much lighter in colour, however you are correct. It would be to get the gradient and keep the original spirit strong. But you could shake all the ingredients together to make it easier.
This looks great! Is the purple colour from the gin itself?
The purple comes from the the gin which contains Butterfly Pea Flower Tea. This ingredient is the dark purple that changes color when citrus juice (lemon or lime) is added. You can use these flowers to infuse gin, vodka, or rum. Or you could make tea with it.
Can you use any brand of gin?
You can, but you would need to infose it with butterfly pea flower tea to get it to react the same way.
Actually I'm more familiar with the cartoon adaptation of him, from Batman The Animated Series... Great 90s cartoon
That 90's cartoon was fantastic. One of my favorite shows.
@@boozeontherocks It's one of my favorites too. They don't make great cartoons like that anymore.
@@matthewcollinsiiiakacdawgc7361 That's for sure.
blue + grey = purple?
It's the reaction between the butterfly pea flower that is in the gin and the citric acid. That turns the dark purple to light purple
Whoa 1908 is a stiff spirit bro
It does have some strength behind it.
This would seem to be begging for even a quarter ounce of simple syrup?
Hi James, You are correct this could use some simple syrup. Try it out and adjust accordingly to your taste and let me know what you think works best.
👍👍👍🍹
It is good :)
Only thing: as per Denny O'neil it's pronounced "Raysh"...smh Chris Nolan.
Whoops my bad. Thank you for the info.
@@boozeontherocks Awesome remix on the cocktail btw, it's in my hand right now. Salute.
@@andreirving779 Thank you Andre, I'm glad you like it.
Holy Shit Batman! This “bartender/instructor,” doesn’t actually start building his cocktail until 3:08.
Major fail, on your protracted intro “Batman.”
Lol... Hi Nelson, My intros have gotten shorter since I made this video. Thanks for the feedback. Did you like the cocktail?
