Thanks James, I'll save you from one of my garage cooking sessions and just say it was a delightful tasty meal - being so fresh makes all the difference. Phil.
63 Another great video , thank you ! I love the shingle beach at Inverbervie , there’s a great walk along the old Railway Line down the Coast ! ☺️🏔️🏴
Hi, Glad you approve of my sense of humour. The Cod was lovely (I had that for my tea). There's several pillbox / bunkers on the beach north of Aberdeen that are now below HWM as erosion has undermined them. Phil.
There's the occasional Haddock coming from the shore too. Hopefully things pick up in the Bristol Channel. You've still plenty of species to keep you busy. Stay safe on the boat, Tight lines, Phil.
Cracking video once again Phil, it was a very enjoyable session that day appart fae the weed at the start, I was surprised how warm it got mid session, I was fair trikket you got that lovely codling ma freen 👌🏻🎣🐟
Thanks Gordon, after the first cast getting so much weed I thought the day was going to be a write off. How different it was at the other end of the beach. Great company, thanks for coming along.
Great vid mate. I think the priority at that mark was you safe return! The Cod was a fantastic bonus. Thanks for the mention mate, much appreciated. All the best
Hi Phil, when you spoke about your lead weights, I always add my lead and bait together so 4-5oz lead with 2 oz of bait gives 6-7oz on the line for casting out.
Thanks Robert, those rods I have are best for lightweight stuff really. I fished with Sparta Fishing down in Northumberland and the rods they use for the rough ground are super stiff.
Inverbervie,,,never fails to disappoint,,, kelp central.. best round the corner gouden,,end of the long breakwater. Just plop it out.. no long cast .. johnshavens OK too. Best of the lot souterhead cove, but you have to know what's what... can be risky..
Hi Peter, have a few sessions at Inverbervie and it can fish okay. I'll give Gouden and Johnshaven a try. I'm not into any 'adventurous' marks. I did have a try on light tackle for wrasse in Johnshaven harbour recently.
@anotherangleUK I used to live around elgin ,, found plenty of marks,, best of the lot was buckpool old harbour, but it's got to be right.. souterheads great but only for the mountain goat type,, try gourden, the mistake most make is to hit it out.. there right under your feet.. 5 to 15 yards. Johnshaven 50 yards into the deep channel .. no kelp issues either. And if you get the chance Peterhead south breakwater,, but ,,from high to low waters best.. they come out of the harbour into the deep water on the ebb. Fish baits catch the ling,,,
@anotherangleUK always a pain ,,traveling from elgin on a wintery night only to find the gates closed.. I moved back south 8 years ago .. miss North East Scotland.. but Northumberland takes some beating.. some great marks too. But not as many of the larger fish,, most years had a few 7 or 8 punders up there,, only once lucky enough to land a double,,,lost plenty though.. all the best.
Hi Jamie, some folks say five pounds some six. I've spoken to folks who have had some good fish from Inverbervie but it can be rather moody and folks frequently blank there - including me last year.
@ i only learnt that about cod 2 weeks ago i was pretty shocked, Inverbervie is on my todo list this winter. Along with a few marks over the west coast
There's often anglers fishing the 'southern' end but I've always fished middle to north end. Not fished near the estuary - guess that's where the Sea Trout hang out.
Well done Phil, nice way to save the blank👍I’m sure Mrs AAUk will put good use to that lovely cod. cracking video as usual buddy.
Thanks 👍. The fish was eaten the following day, very tasty indeed. 😎
I just love the sound of the waves running up and down the beach
Very relaxing sound when the sea is in the right mood.
@anotherangleUK like marriage in many ways 🫣🤣
Another very good video Phil, and a lovely codling to top the day off, please tell us how good it tasted, Thank you,
Thanks James, I'll save you from one of my garage cooking sessions and just say it was a delightful tasty meal - being so fresh makes all the difference. Phil.
Great video again Phil. It's getting nippy for sure. Well done. All the best 👍
Definitely need your thermals as the wind blasts across the North
Sea.
63 Another great video , thank you !
I love the shingle beach at Inverbervie , there’s a great walk along the old Railway Line down the Coast !
☺️🏔️🏴
I've cycled down that track from Inverbervie to Johnshaven. Didn't know it was an old railway line.
Well done Phil, great video, keep them coming 👍
Thanks, no problem, I enjoy sharing the adventures. 👍
Good result Phil. Enjoy your supper mate 🤤
Thanks, that one has been consumed already - very tasty indeed 😎
Another Tangle UK, love it! North east Coast is peppered with old WWII defences, great bit of history. Nice Cod!

Nice Cod Phil, well worth the day fishing on a very cold November beach.
Got even colder in the next video - but you'll have to wait for that one 😎
Nice video again. Good to see a shore caught cod .you get around fair play .tight lines
Thanks. There have been some larger Cod caught further south near Arbroath beaches and harbour - 6lbs I read on social media.
@anotherangleUK .At least there are some around up north .Here in my neck of the woods "bristol channel ,is absolutely dire on the cod front .

@ Aye I think the flood tide was pushing the weed to the sooth end, cheers Phil 🎣🐟🐟🐟
Great to.watch to nice men present keep it up
Thanks. Just being ourselves and having a good time. Happy to share the adventures. Phil.
Great vid mate. I think the priority at that mark was you safe return! The Cod was a fantastic bonus. Thanks for the mention mate, much appreciated. All the best
Thanks Steve, I was in two minds about returning but what happened could have happened anywhere. Was good to get back and onto a fish. Phil.
I was there today, and Johnshaven. Absolutely nothing but crabs.
Funny you should say that. look out for a 'Grindie' video soon. 🥹
Well done, need to get my gear ready to get out myself over the next week or so, not fished Bervie for years, tend to be just south of there.
Thanks Burnie, Inverbervie isn’t fishing too bad at the moment. I’ve another Inverbervie video out on Friday if you want to see more.
Top of the milk!!! Nice cod taken from the beach! CHEERS from HERE!!! P.S. What is snow???
Hi, I don't often take fish for the table but that one came home and was delicious. Phil
I think you need to start doing your intro facing the rods :)
Working on it! That end of the beach must have had all the weed as it wasn't an issue on the north side.

Thanks for the information, top man. Peterhead South Breakwater has been closed for a few years unfortunately - used to love that mark.

Crackin cod phil, worth the wait pal. Do you know 6lbs is when a cod is no longer a codlin

I've been back to Inverbervie and have another video out next week 👍
@@anotherangleUK i look forward to it phil. Tight lines mate
Did you catch any Codling?
Lots of small Codling around. Can get quite a few other species from that beach - I've another video coming out with those. Phil.
Never saw any cod at the other end you started at catch plenty sea trout that side in the summer nights
There's often anglers fishing the 'southern' end but I've always fished middle to north end. Not fished near the estuary - guess that's where the Sea Trout hang out.
well done mate dont mind giving you a subscribe too cheers martyn van life fisherman👍👍
Thanks very much @Vanlifefisherman. I'm aiming to get into some larger Cod as the season progresses. Phil.
