    It's so unfortunate about dogs limited flexibility, because some dogs I observe Want to be able to use their front paws like humans and cats but they cant. If they go too fast with reaching out they accidentally punch with claws. If they are a little wiser, they make up for it by trying to go slower, controlled. It's still a bit awkward.
    It really stands out to me as a marker of intelligence cause they are trying to communicate in a way that is unnatural for them. For humans hands are so important. Wolves don't reach out with a paw like that. Humans hold hands. Touch with hands. Some dogs notice this and they use a lot more paw-interaction despite the limitation. It's very fascinating.

      what's more bazaar is that Australian Dingos actually kept a mobile wrist, they can pull in like cats do and have the ability to open doors. I've never studied the way a tamed dingo interacts with a keeper but I think for your line of interest it may be worth looking into ^^
