      Both are needed. Apple endless software ecosystem locking is worse than anything Microsoft ever did and Google is close behind. Regulators turned a blind eye for years and now are scrambling to bring down these tech empires.

      Because you don`t pay for the prduction cost of the current chip, you pay for the research cost of the new chip, and for the riky business. And also, the standard cards arn't very overprised compared to amd. Maybe expensive, bot far from ripp off. And also, NVIDEA don't charge companys, if they make a programm, that wants to run on there cards. Because when you buy an NVIDEA card, they say, that it belongs to you, and that you don't have to pay for it if you want to use it... like apple...

    Well, Apple doesn't collect fees for subscriptions sold by Spotify on their website. Why not make them cheaper there? Should solve the problem with too high Apple fees pretty quickly ... Apple cannot be forced to include a shop in iOS. Can't see how the EU is going to win this eventually ...

    • @marcesser4218

      The Problem is, that apple forbits you, to promote in the app, that you can apply for the service on the Website.

      @@marcesser4218 Come on, Spotify is used mostly by young people. If Spotify were 1$ more expensive within the app and 1$ less expensive on the web (per month), the audience would listen ... And then ... I know of web apps which tell you within the app, "to buy new credits first". I believe the prime app does this for instance.
      And really, if people then still would insist on buying thru the app, then the Apple share would be fair indeed. If people have become this lazy I mean.
      A more extreme version: a free Spotify app but you must sign in with your web account you paid for on the web.

    Steve Kovac did a terrible job explaining this. Butthurt Spotify crying over rent they have to pay on transactions for being in the AppStore is ridiculous. They knew the 30% terms from day one reflected the value of access to Apples 2.2 Billion users. Pay your rent like everyone else.

    • @MilitantPacifista

      Yeah, still illegal in the EU.

      @@MilitantPacifista 30% rent can’t be illegal when it’s been the terms for 17 years. Spotify is the only European company shedding tears for paying rent. Because their quality is too weak for most Americans. Bye bye Spotify -no App Store for you.

    • @rufmeister
      @rufmeister 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The problem is not simply the "rent" they have to pay. Yes, that is one problem, and an abuse of market power
      But more important here, is that Apple is censoring the internal content of apps. Not allowing the consumers to be informed of alternative payment options. That hurts consumers.
      Apple is abusing the dominant position they have in phone hardware/platform, to give their (insanely expensive) payment platform an unfair advantage.
      That is antitrust behaviour, against which there are laws. It doesn't matter if Spotify is also big. If Spotify would abuse their market share to disadvantage some other business, then they would get the same treatment, but they're not.

      False, practically any app offering separate subscriptions is unhappy with Apple's monopoly.
      Very much app store for Spotify, because the EU actually has functional anti-trust laws in contrast to the US. Comply with our laws or get out of our market.
