    Mesmerising to watch Paul, and thank you for all your tips about planning and shapes - so useful to see how all of this comes together. You're a fab teacher because you tell us your reasoning of why things need to be a certain way to get a good effect. And I love your humour 😁

    The thing what makes me sad a little . Is that almost anyone can paint the wet on wet ,and it kind of makes me feel I have no talent .

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi stevie b. Bob's style of painting was always intended to inspire and be a stepping on point for anyone wanting to experience the joy of painting. Your talents will be completely different. It can be your a great cook or like to knit etc. What ever it is you have is a talent that you can celebrate. Personally, I have very little talent but a huge amount of desire. So find your desire and let that power you on your journey - Paul 😊

      @@PaulRansonArt yeah your probably right . I'm not interested In traditional art either . The bob ross community seems quite large but I actual fact I only know of maybe 1 other person who practices wet on wet . It ain't that easy either . I'm 4yrs down road with ross technique and see a vast improvement since I started .
      I just needed a nudge . Cheers

    Awesome work Paul, yes you are right in saying that some paintings require a rubik's cube sequence, I found out through many of my paintings that very fact, ended up having to sit the painting to dry and then get back to it, it's all part of learning and finding how things work for ourselves, this one looks great and I can imagine it wouldn't be an easy one to get right the first time, but it came out great 😊👍

    Just a quick question, I coated my canvas with liquid white and while painting everything above center, things went well. But the lower I got in the painting, my brush was sticking and it was quite dry. So my question is, despite the existing paint in the lower half, can I reapply LW over what I’d done? Or…what?

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you can if it's starting to dry. If you've already started painting this area you might want to scrape off the paint to a suitable point. Then reapply the liquid white. Scrub it in well to dilute any colours on the canvas. I do this sometimes when I have a happy accident 🤓👍

    Hey Stevie, yes your comment is indeed sad. And in some ways, a very real thing for all of us. But isn’t talent simply in the eye of the beholder and quite relative? I mean one man’s botch job may be another’s masterpiece. I can only speak for myself but when I decided to pick up a brush, I literally had no idea what I was doing. Good or bad, right or wrong, talented or talent free, I now notice the finer things with respect to my surroundings. And while I may not be a good painter, through learning, I’ve experienced a great deal of joy just trying my hand at it. Perhaps you can shelve the whole talent notion and create something you can be pleased with. Use your passion my friend and a masterpiece will surely follow. Cheers!
