I’m sure you’re going for style with the race car “lean” (or perhaps these are ultra futuristic cars with adaptive suspension of some kind) but physically they would be leaning towards the outside of the turn. Love the bridges and monorail though!
Build a building with the tram running through it😊 Also the stripe on the supports should correspond with the color of the tram on that part of the system, orange on the part the orange tram travels on, red on the red part etc, same with the stations, the normally orange parts can be in the corresponding colors😊
@Vegardye yes I agree. I have seen a building at DisneyWorld that has a monorail running through it. I’ve also seen pictures of buildings in China and Japan that have them also. His only problem might be having it so close to the corner. Those trains have a long nose and need a bit of extra space for turns???
The Cinema should be showing an alien invasion movie. You should also have a black and white bridge sponsored by The Super-Secret Police they do like a good billboard to promote the stealthy nature of their organization.
As someone who works at a cinema, there is no chance they would allow a monorail to pass over the building, purely because of the noise it would create. Especially with how thin the walls on the old style ones are
I'd consider switching the hinge brick pieces under the race cars to the other side because cars normally lean towards the outside of a curve when passing through it, not the inside
Love the mono-rail bridges! yes they are simular, but the different colours makes them different enough and like a theme for the monorail. also the placement of the facades in the back adds SO much to the city!!
I tried then both ways and the yellow seemed to clash less there. Also bigger buildings went well with the lighter colour. Green went well next to the station!
Awesome progress. I like how it is all taking shape. Have you tried some "race car facade"? The back of a racecar disappearing into the wall behind the train track might look interesting :)
@@RobinHoodBricks I was thinking more of a picture of the car, albeit slightly 3D. 4 or 5 plates thick. Half a car would also be cool but I can see how it may look weird. Maybe if the front part was disappearing in smoke/mist/tunel...
It´s a pity you don´t have the space to have the facades on a higher level than the buildings in front. Technically, you could place them higher, but you would at least need the space to put some stairs or something to connect the two levels for it to look natural, right? It doesn´t look like that could work from what I can see. The monorail line is too close.
I know what you mean but doesn't that make it more realistic? It's not on display it's a row of far away buildings we want to try and see through the gaps!
The city’s coming together nicely. I love the fact the race cars go over the train track's, hopefully they can make a lap before the barriers go down 😂
Agreed Robin, it definitely looks like you've done a lot, but more importantly you did do a lot and did an excellent job doing it!😂 Brilliant Sir Robin, just brilliant. Although that red facade building would look better about 4 studs wider
This is a rather good video, actually. So much in one go and gives a really good idea of how things are coming together. I love the idea of the Monaco Grand Prix style track. I do wonder if you need to have a crash. But without being morbid Maybe one of the cars could at some point leave the track and enter the water if that could work as it’s slightly less indicative of death and destruction! Thinking about the airport will there be a runway and possibly the option to have a plane taking off?
Great to hear. I think there will have to be some sort of crash. The airport will be similar to before but a deeper facade with more outside space too but no runway. I'll also redo the plane taking off overhead as before!
If you replace the theatre and need a building to accommodate the monorail track, I believe it would be cool to have monorail pass through a building. Similar to how the Disney World Monorail passes through the Contemporary Resort. There are 2 monorail tracks that actually go through the resort building. There is just something special seeing it going in one side and coming out of the other or seeing it emerge out the opening in the building. Just a thought. 2.0 is looking good!
With the facades, I'd probably even leave the rear plates off of the bottom, to make them even less attached. It might be fun to have the facade behind the station be the back of another station building on the other side of the tracks.
Looks great! The hinge brick on the bottom of the cars should be on the inside of the corner, and they should be leaning the other way (towards the outside of the corner.)
Could you not turn the castle 180 so the bridge is still going over the river but the old oak is where the police helicopter is now and the castle is over the subway
Awesome amount of progress mate! I’m Really enjoying the new city it’s great fun seeing all the old bits shuffled in with the new, can’t wait to see what’s next.
I just thought of a new idea/suggestion for you to add to your collections of the world longest Lego freight train. The idea is that it is either a railway maintenance wagon with crane arms that have saws on the end or other tools to knock down brush and clear the track. Similar to pieces of equipment that I’ve seen in America. Another interesting thing you could add to this model or maybe something else in the future is some trimmers/technic gears that look like they trim the grass in between the rails. And that explains why the man in the lower part of the maintenance shed has had the side of his head shaven off.
That is fantastic progress 🎉 small idea regarding the table leg over the subway track 25:15 - replace the switch at the right of the station by its mirrored sibling, so that the track continues straight on the back side and the table leg is in front of it ?
Love, love, love! Loving how much you are adding to upgrade the city; creative usefulness of those weird spaces, more facades, and the race track is really growing on me. Long Term Subscriber, remembering the tasteful drink cans of old city haha
One suggestion I thought of is that it would be really fun since you have so much water, to have a sea plane port maybe. With a couple sea planes docked and a little dock for them too. If there isn’t enough room for that, another fun idea would be to just have one sea plane taking off from the water! It could add a lot of visual detail and be very interesting to look at.
Oooo, good Idea, I'd love to see Robin come up with some custom seaplane MOCs, hopefully he makes both floatplanes and a small flying boat or two, I've always loved those really tiny flying boats, like the Grumman G-73T Turbo Mallard

For the door height, you could mount plates with the door handles and then connect to a piece across the bottom edge. Wouldnt be very strong but could get the extra height that way.

cars should lean on the opposite side of the curve because of momentum. Maybe can create a funny scene where a car is overturning by making it have an exaggerated lean, either due to losing control or an aggressive overtake.
I hadn’t checking in for a while. Good job, Robin. One thing though, where’s the power station? I know there isn’t one in the old city, so will you be adding one? I should think Brickonium Energy Crystal powered, but what do you think? Rockatoa, Brickticks out! Oh, and of course, knowing that we now not only have had spy balloons here in the USA, but also spy drones…. Well, is there a chance for the SSP to get their own Spy Drone? Preferably one the size of a small bus…. That’s what we’re dealing with here, small bus sized drones. Help.
In theory I have them all, but a lot have the old city on them still so it's a case of freeing them up one by one rather than do it all at once and making a complete mess!
Hi Robin, your car leaning idea is great. Except you have accidentally got them leaning the wrong way. Unlike a bike that leans into the corner, a car will lean away from the corner. I will include your leaning idea to my existing monaco style city centre race track. Nowhere near as good as yours. I used the Mercedes f1 set which comes with a podium, pit lights and track accessories. Check it out for ideas. 2nd comment in a two consecutive videos. Mega fan.

It looks pretty rough but we could. It's gonna need redecorating before Mrs Hood will be happy moving in!
You need some sort of ad for soda cans or recycling - all in memory of the cans supporting the old tables!
They held up well but these legs certainly inspire more confidence!

Help.
Wouldn't the race cars be leaning towards the outside of the turns?
City is looking amazing!
Ooops. Silly Robin. I'll sort that out!
@RobinHoodBricks love your city so much! Me and my daughter watch every city video!
Nice job on yor city
Great job
Much appreciated!
Love it! nothing more to say.
I think that you should have a house where the monorail goes right through it like they have in China
Nice work!! Where did you source the hot dog on the roof of food truck?
It's a Duplo piece. I think I showed how to attach it in the same Brick Haul. It should be visible on the thumbnail!
Amazing job, but I cannot lie: I'm gonna miss the soda cans...
They just aren't tall enough now, haha. They lasted well. I had every confidence in them but this is definitely better!
Why not have the Green bridge sponsored by the bank next to the bank on there crossing, makes sense they want people to see “their” bridge etc
Would the Ford Fiesta M-Sport (75885) be any good for the race track? It's got a lot of stickers. :)
I've got that, somewhere. I can try it even though it's a different shape!
I’m wondering have you bought all the tables already you’ll be using for the city or are you just getting them as you go?
In theory I have them all, but a lot have the old city on them still so it's a case of freeing them up one by one rather than do it all at once and making a complete mess!
Is the Guarded Inn/Tavern going to be in your old town section?
Yes, I have all the parts for a slightly improved version!
Is there a chance the track could bend?!
I'll be assisting a chicane onto the road plates, if that's what you mean!
@ aww man you missed my Simpsons reference 😩
i had no internet for 5 days and in need to ctach up this is first
Good choice!
Shitty pizza, everyones favourite ;-)
I wanted to say it in the accent but, you know, complaints!
Perhaps consider a non Lego piece in your city…drinks can water tower piece or underwater discovery
👍🤜🤛
Hi Robin, your car leaning idea is great. Except you have accidentally got them leaning the wrong way. Unlike a bike that leans into the corner, a car will lean away from the corner. I will include your leaning idea to my existing monaco style city centre race track. Nowhere near as good as yours. I used the Mercedes f1 set which comes with a podium, pit lights and track accessories. Check it out for ideas. 2nd comment in a two consecutive videos. Mega fan.
I don’t think that is the right place for the cinema if I’m being honest. It is super short
Something will be changing there but I don't know what yet!
Everything looks great... except the garage. I still think it doens't fit there. It's to modern.
Can You Add Traffic Lights In your city you don't have one 🚦🚥
They are yet to come in yes. Also street lights and more people!
