    Thx for short, direct video. Need to splice sewer line that is not a prefab bend, i.e.: 22.5 or 45 bend. This is encouraging.

    I need to remove a 2m long pvc pipe encased in a concrete floor slab. How do I soften the pipe so I can pull it out once it softens?

    If you had something flexible but solid in cross section but somewhat heat resistant (maybe a pool noodle wrapped in foil tape) to put on the inside AFTER you heat, but BEFORE you bend, that would help keep the pipe from collapsing, and even out the bend radius.
    My 2 cents, thanks for the video.

      Yes that works I'm also seen people pack it with sand and other things........ whatever works!

    if i just want to bend a couple of thin pieces at 45 degree angles for a volleyball spike trainer, could I use a heat gun?

    Thank you for the video! Will it stay flexible when it slowly cools (without the use of water)?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes its the same either way.

    OK. I've got bent pvc pieces that I want to reuse. How would you straighten a bent piece out?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Basically the same way but be careful gluing fittings to pipe that has already been heated because it shrinks

  • @fortyozsteak

    Can I do this if there’s a wire already in the conduit?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy

      Yes it should work fine

      @@JohnThePoolExpertGuy the conduit is like 25’ long and I’m looking to bend it back straight. The curve is only like 10-15 degrees over that 25’. Seems like it should be pretty easy aside from just digging it all up initially

    Hopefully your not a true contractor or professional wouldn’t. Haven’t seen any of the real ones use anything but fittings on a pool build. Keep that for the non jobs that’s your own. Be a professional and use the fittings. It’s all paid for in the agreed upon an signed contract of the job. What your doing is just cutting corners

      Lol , I worked in a pipe factory, we heat the pipe up to make the bends , we do it in an oven style system but his method is just as good . We charged $22.00 more for bends , you can do the same yourself for almost nothing .!
