Phew Claire is a nightmare of neurosis, narcissistic control and a destroyer of joy and love. Excellent play but very sad the father and son-in-law could not temper Claire's stifling Jelousy and insanity. However, Joe didn't hold back with her cutting criticism, disappointment and demanding manner that Adam should live his life more like hers. Two very different but domineering women and two weak men. Excellent thank you for uploading. Xxxx
Doctor Jo by JOAN MORGAN adapted by Cynthia Pugihe with Fredla Jackson as Dr. Joanna Marlowe This play is about a career woman and it poses the dilemma of such a person having, at some time in her life, to come to grips with her own basic desires and individuality. Produced bv HUGH STEWART in the BBC's Midland studios Saturday's recorded broadcast September 1961
Brilliant. Best play I've heard in ages. I know so many narcissistic women like the wife. The fact that he said he couldn't even have private thoughts anymore hit me the most. My friend was as controlling as that over her husband. Drove him into a shell of a man, really sad.
This story was great, although the whining 1950’s wife was nearly impossible to tolerate, but that is of course what made this story so good. Life is about choices.
Find a partner you can grow into. I've noticed men do that a lot. In youth they choose a petty woman over a simulating equal. As they mature and grow more confident, they're stifled by the petty woman and realize too late, life with the equal, while intimating at the beginning, would have been more satisfying long term.
Isn’t it sad about the huge bbc cuts on radio especially. In the information in the text cutting the radio play etc . I’m confused y the pay certain personalities up to 2 million in salaries
@@shesosweet2781Ah, it's an insight into the roles of women and the stifling of women. Each sister suffers because of her limited choices... very interesting.

That whining... thing... I almost crushed my mobil!🤣
Actor Gladys Young was much respected by the British Radio audiences. So good to hear her again.

Wow, I hope things changed somewhat in that household after the play was over! 🙃 Another good play but very depressing.

My God, this woman talks so fast!!
So very sad
There's only so much poshness I can put up with. Not for me!
This was without a doubt the stupidest play I have heard ever.
Certainly the most annoying..
@@martas9283 little under halfway through it and I’m feeling the same.
