- Continuing on with the #swappyswap2019 Now that we are all done with Tylers 2nd Gen 4Runner we now have to put back together the rigs that donated parts.
Next up is #bobcattruck Bobcat needs a new transmission and Transfer case's but to do so we need to take them from the 1st Gen 4Runner.
Will this swap ever end?

Removing the trans looks so nice with a nice garage floor, multiple people and decent jacks 😂
A nice smooth garage floor is always a help and the extra hands were great three people were exactly perfect for this. yes a transmission jack does absolutely help to remove a transmission 😉
It’s good to have friends to help out. Glad to here your going to rebuild the 1st gen hope the buyer appreciates it. I bought my 86 new and am still daily driving it. Right now I’m searching for an AC amplifier. They are hard to find for this year.
That's awesome, keeping it in the family. What have you done to it?
Just after buying it I put a custom built 3” body lift and 33 BFGs, a custom built head from? Can’t remember his name, a guy in oregano built it, rancho shocks and that’s it. Just keeping it together and running is a major challenge these days.
The old trucks do take a bit of constant maintenance
That looks like it definitely got some use haha. Looks like some good things going on.
Fun stuff for sure!
Impressive watching you guys do this, though it gives me such anxiety! Not in my comfort zone!
It's nice to have extra hands! 3 people was perfect. one on each side to see what's going on in pry while the other person sits behind in polls
Just get a new flywheel they are under 50 dollars and cheap insurance. Just imagine having to pull the trans back out because the clutch is slipping..
Under $50 where are you getting yours from?
Replace it and do rear main seal while your there
On rear main, didn't think of that... Good idea!!!
Those Hot spots can Cause clutch chatter latter on replace it
Great video!
yay more Swappy Swap!
Glad you're enjoying these, I'm actually having a really fun time making them
Great videos always insteresting👌
Thanks! You know ripping out Transmissions are always fun
Yes lots of maintenance, right now I’m looking for an AC amplifier can’t seem to find one for an 86
Bummer, I don't even know what that is
SnailTrail4x4 behind the glove box on top of the air box there is a wire plug that fastens to it. You unplug the wire and pop the cover off and pull a circuit board out, there it is the amplifier is the circuit board
Will a 3rd gen transmission work on a second gen pickup ?
Yes, it should as long as it's a 4wd to 4wd
