This country song is way to damn underrated hit that 👍button if you agree should Be at the top of the number 1 chart not this BS they call country now and days damn how time flys seems like only yesterday god bless USA
It definitely has a powerful message. My Father passed away at 91 and I miss him every day. There's so many times that I think of him and the things that we did together, hunting, fishing target shooting, he taught me to take care of what's important to you and it will take care of you.
You're right, people hate country because it's the truth and it stings. To quote Brad Stine, "The truth is supposed to hurt; that's how you know you ain't got it". Truly hope everything works out for you and your family, God bless.
I love the 70 Mustang 351 w a 4 on the floor, His father's 69 Charger. On top of having the stones to bury the hatchet with his father so his son will know his grandfather.
I love this song... no matter who you are you should ALWAYS do the absolutely best you can no matter how hard you have to work to get where you want to be.. it will ALWAYS pay off more than you think in the end..:)
Sons don't always need their father. 4 years ago I left his house. We only talk at family events, which I only go to, cause my grandfathers time is coming soon. 4 years, I haven't needed his help once... hell I haven't needed his help in anything in 8 years, because I worked for other family members all through high school.
Not always but,, I've seen it before among people that I know that your mother has a lot of trouble teaching you to be a man. I was blessed with 2 exceptional parents who are gone now.
This song is so much like my own relationship with my real father. so glad to have a step dad who loves me more than anything. THATS the measure of a REAL man.
Had a 72 Boss 351 Cobra Jet back in the day,it was the fastest car I ever owned.Wish I still had it.Sold it to pay bill's and raise a family. That's the measure of a man too.
he played a show in denison iowa and then for the after party they went to a bar and a band i knew was playing there so i was there they walked in and somehow every one from that band and jack ingrams band and the band that opened for them and me got together and we all played folsom prison blues and it was the coolest thing ever
I was paralyzed in an accident back in 2012 and I have been confined to a wheelchair ever since. Today this song came on the radio and it was so bad that I was able to summon the strength to get up out of my wheelchair, walk across the room and shut it off. Thank you Jack Ingram
i used to always listen to this song about 5 years ago after my dad died, trying to figure out why he always told me to listen to this song and always remember the words. I was recently diagnosed with ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder) and I told my mother off in a rage. She shipped me on over to my step dad, and I told him off that week too. He kicked me out and when I said "Where will I go" he said "You talk like a man, be a man and find out." Now I know what my dad always meant. Miss you
@Brahhz i listen to the Goo Goo Dolls, KISS, Gin Blossoms, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Tori Amos, Ozzy O, all music is good to listen too if you open your mind, let it go man open up your opinions for music. if you keep it closed your kids will end up listening to Justin Biever. Not saying Country is all good, but this is. LIVE MAN
@lethalsparrow I've actually listened to quite a bit. On the rare occasions that I can decipher the twisted, mangled iterations they refer to as lyrics, it's almost all shallow and empty. I will grant you one thing. I was wrong to say it's all about sex and money. Drugs, guns, and violence are also quite prominent. Please accept my apologies for that paticular oversight. I'm no prude, but I do think an F-bomb in a song should be for a reason, a point of emphasis, not "just cuz"
The car is a 1971 72 or 73 Mustang and please someone correct me if I'm wrong I believe a 351 Boss, in that time frame there were 351 Boss Mustangs. 74 started the Non Mustang the Mustang II.
@lethalsparrow check out the rest "Remember the Name" by Fort Minor and notice the drugs and F-bombs. Im not a red sox fan (Yankees for life!) but ima have to back up redsoxrok34.
@winchbrad Amen to that. Rap is all about "bang my bitch, get my money", while country focuses on God, country, courage, hope, love, etc. and even the dark stuff like loss and despair. People wonder why I prefer the deep stuff as opposed to the shallow garbage. I just roll my eyes and pray for them
I want a mustang like that! I've been hunting for years! However, everyone with one wont sell it! & all its doing is rotting in their backyard. :( Like my soul...damn women. Can't recognize I have the measure of a man! D:
Everything to do with sex or being sexy isn't necessarily shallow... the first and last songs you listed were definitely kinda shallow, but Country girl shake it for me isn't necessarily shallow, because if it's HIS country girl, it's just about asking his woman to be sexy for him, and that's not even a little shallow or perverted, and Tequila makes her clothes fall off isn't even a little bit perverted or shallow.
Me and my father didn't speak for six years. This song hits home.
y'all doing better?

On top of having the stones to bury the hatchet with his father so his son will know his grandfather.
Last time I listened to this I cried years ago, and just did again
I love this song... no matter who you are you should ALWAYS do the absolutely best you can no matter how hard you have to work to get where you want to be.. it will ALWAYS pay off more than you think in the end..:)

One of the most underrated artist's and song's!
One of my favorite country songs, ever!
Goosebumps. That's why I love country music.
This is the story of so many fathers & sons. Hoping most end this way instead of permanent estrangement.

This song is so much like my own relationship with my real father. so glad to have a step dad who loves me more than anything. THATS the measure of a REAL man.

I was paralyzed in an accident back in 2012 and I have been confined to a wheelchair ever since. Today this song came on the radio and it was so bad that I was able to summon the strength to get up out of my wheelchair, walk across the room and shut it off. Thank you Jack Ingram

@20cher09 13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
The car is a 1971 72 or 73 Mustang and please someone correct me if I'm wrong I believe a 351 Boss, in that time frame there were 351 Boss Mustangs. 74 started the Non Mustang the Mustang II.
It is actually a 69 or 70. 71 got a whole lot boxier.
And the boss name was only for 302's and 429's not 351
It's a '70. A '69 has 4 headlights. Otherwise bodies are the same.
It's a 1970 mach 1
@ericpowers8716
Thank for clearing that up.
@bredeson to bad thats a 1969 dodge charger that his father his drivin, know your cars bud
