A video for beginners moving to intermediate would be good. Ride height/spring softness/ esc settings turbo/ boost/ timing etc would be good as spending hundreds on ally arms, carbon chassis blah blah has just ruined me cos I didn’t know how to set it up after each change. Just general advice on upgrades really 👍
A video on upgrades that are with the money maybe 🤔 great idea bro 👊🏼😄
I second this thank you
Can someone tell me if I should get G1 10BL120 or the 10BL120 G2? For drift ESC
@@FPSRCDRIFT could you help me with my question?
@@Lukeghfahey 👋 ok I see your predicament. So really it all comes down to tuning. The G1 is fixed tune and the G2 can be tuned with an additional tunning box. For the price I would pick the G2 just so you have the option to tune if you wanted to in the future 👌🏼
Thank you for the info! I think I'm already addicted to RC Drifting. I've watched dozens of videos and I haven't even bought my first car, lol
great video for the new comers of the hobby, nice one sam
Great video! I've not bought anything yet but always been into cars / drifting / modding. And also used to build racing drones so I know my way around a soldering iron. Just need to convince the wife cos' it's no doubt a slippery slope once you start.
Great video man! I've never had more fun with an rc car until I got into the drift side of the hobby.
It’s the best 😜👍
Great video Sam! I look forward to seeing more in this style!
Thanks brother 🙏 if this goes down well it might be something I carry on with
got an MST 2.5 RTR... got hooked then got an RDX build going, now looking to upgrade the RMX
great video, helped me so much thankyou
Amazing 🤩 great to hear 🙏
Great vis ✌️
Just got my RDX kit.
Will be running Hobbywing Xrd10 Pro ESC with D10 10.5T.
Reved Gyro and Servo.
Sounds like a awesome set up 👌🏼 thank you for your comment
Love everything about rc drifting!!!! Got the mst rmx 2.5 for my first car I’ve practiced so much with it slowly I will build it up as I get the funds. But I just got hooked up with a tiny ass drift art chassis to create a baby drifter so I can build a track to get loose on!!!
Yea bro 😝 glad to hear your making progress 👊🏼
This vid is a great idea. I 2nd the comment that says another video is needed for those wanting to go from intermediate to pro/comp level . Keep up the work. Love the vids.👍🤜🤛
Thanks for the kind words dude. Definitely something I will be thinking about 😃👍
@@FPSRCDRIFT yeah plus 🙏
Great Video! I went with TA DR10 esc/motor, Onisiki Servo/Gyro and GT3C. I really like it and stayed budget friendly on a YD2Z chassis :D
Sound great bro 👊🏼 may she do big old backies 😜
Small world Sam! Having a look through TH-cam and came across this video, thought i recognised you. You bought a red 200sx off me back about 15 years ago 😂 (a real one j871 ovc if i remember correctly)
Hope you're well mate and appreciate the advice on the rc drifting
Cheers bud
No way!!! 😂 yeah that’s right. Only sold it a couple years ago.
Love the intro 🤣 loved the whole video bro deffo would like some more tech vids 👍🏼
Thanks bro 👊🏼 appreciate the support
i absolutely love this video .for newcomers its perfect
i just wish i had a track near me ;(
Thank you!!! anywhere can be a track bro. I've seen this done in a carpark with a track drawn with chalk ;)
Got loads of time for this. 👌👌
It is a video that the hobby has required. I have written out this list countless times on social media. To help people out.
Servo/gyro and handset are the most important. 👏👏
Hopefully this helps someone looking to get into the hobby. Wish I knew these things when I was getting started 😂
@@FPSRCDRIFT I couldn't agree more one of the most difficult thing's about getting into the hobby is finding the correct information. 😁
What is the best way to start with drifting ? An awd chassis or an rwd chassis. I was thinking of an MST RMX 2.5. What do you think ? Thanks for this video by the way
@@ElPunto620
100% RWD the mst RMX is a great way to get into the hobby. Like Sam says in the video.
MST RMX
Yokomo yd-2 or sd1.0
But the best is the reve D RDX.
Loving the direction of the channel entertaining and informative 👍
Thank you for the kind comment 🙏 hopefully it helps people getting into the hobby
Some great info. I just recently got a Yokomo RD 2.0. It's definitely been a learning curve coming from an rc racing background. Going by your motor recommendations, I'm assuming a 7.5t motor is a bit much?
Awesome video matey..i have been down that rabbit hole of buying upgrades due to failures and frustration on my tt02b tamiya..just started getting into drifting and going for your tips..keep it up!
Thank you for the kind words. Aaahhh your going down the rabbit hole of rc drifting 😂 we’ve all been there
Another video suggestion is shaft driven vs belt/gear driven chassis's or chassis comparison of cars with motors inline with the rear axle shafts and ones that are mounted 90° to the axle shafts
Great vid!!
Thank bro 👊🏼
Good sound advice ❤
Thank you brother 👊🏼😄
I drift the brushed 3s apex 2 hoonitruck with zero issues 😅 seriously it's been over a year and not a single issue yet. I did however upgrade to stainless bushings vs the original plastic ones and adjustable toe arms vs the stock non adjustable ones.
As long as your out there having fun and having a skid that’s all that matters bro 🫡 keep it up 👍
Best tip you can give to someone who´s looking to start is to visit their local track, se what the guys there are running and have experience with!
I agree dude 👌🏼
@FPSRCDRIFT I learned the hard way on this and bought futaba gyd470 gyro when everyone runs yokomo V4 or power hd G1 at my club. Can't for the life of us how to set it up. Turning down the gyro slows the steering and reduces the endpoints. Infuriating stuff and is looking like I'll have to buy one of the gyros they run. Could have saved money and bought either of those as they are cheaper.
Yo, I know you just gave us some recommendations but is the Sakura D5MR also a good starter chassis?
The D5 is a dated chassis that take a lot of work and knowledge to get up to modern standards
Amazing video man, but can you make one whit high budget tips ?, best kits ir rtt etc
Thank you for your comment. This is definitely something I’m looking into 😉👊🏼
Is the Yokomo RD 1.0 RTR good for beginning?? I was planning on buying that and immediately upgrading the battery.
Yeah very good kit 👌🏼
Thanks for the video, dude. Looking at getting back to RC Drifting from the 'Old Skool' days of competitive drifting in the days of 4WD Drifting.
My two boys have recently (for Christmas) had TT-02 (tamiya's) to introduce them to building and getting a feel for RC ...BUT, the RC Drift itch is there for them both already.
Would be great to know the places we can go to and rub doors (eventually) - we're based in the Midlands and want to avoid going deep down south as I was doing back in the days.
Hello and welcome back 🫡 your in the midlands!!! Mate you are in luck 😉 check out this website of all the tracks
www.rcdrift.uk/map/all
Any more questions feel free to drop me another comment and il help where I can 👌🏼
@FPSRCDRIFT Thank you. 🙏🏼 I'm popping down to Midlands Drift Warehouse tonight. MST RMX 2.5 in the post too as I type this. Keep the videos coming, we (myself and my lads) enjoy watching them.
... also, keep them Podcasts coming, too!
rate my build (built in 2021)
CHASSIS
Sakura D3 Carbon roller chassis from amazon
AGF A50BLH Programmable servo
AGF GY04M Gyro
Hobbywing 10BL120 and Programmer
Surpass Rocket V3 10.5T Modified
Novahobby Killerbody 1/10 RC Unpainted 180SX body
OPTIONAL
RC6GS 7 channel radio kit (i use it for my scale rigs also...)
Get it on track 😜 with a good tune I bet we could get it ripping round 👌🏼
I need help. Can anyone build a cheap bur good RC setup I am struggling with the battery
What country are you in? I might be able to point you in the direction of someone who can help 🫡
Question, for the body of the car, do all body’s fit all chasis?
Not all body’s fit all cars. Most do but double check
Awesome vid 👍🏻
Maybe do a decent budget build from start to finish 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great minds think alike 😉👍
Been really thinking about buying a rtr kit with a better radio, I’ve actually been leaning towards the redcat rds, but the yokomo have so many upgrades and it seems like the mst get dogged on. What would you say is the best rtr kit? Or rtr kit with small upgrades to make the best of the bunch thanks!
We don’t get the Redcat in the uk and yeah MST gets dogged on 😂 mainly because some of there components are very fragile and upgrades are expensive. I have heard good things about the redcat but yokomo would be my preferred choice 👌🏼
I have a Yokomo YD2S, it’s basically been a shelf queen, I’m looking into a 10 turn motor and I have like 19 different ESC‘s and like three of them are programmable so I’m just gonna get the program card for them, however, what would be the best dampers or shocks for the whole system because I’ve noticed..... on Instagram for example, the rebound is ridiculously smooth, and should I put my ESC on the back of the car towards the front of the car? And motor should I do top mount side mount rear mount? There’s options for all of it.
Yd2 is a great platform 👌🏼 ok first off what surface are you going to be drifting on?
Can I get an answer, please? In my model I have a rigid front axle. Does this mean that such a model will have very big problems with drifting?
By rigid to you mean 4wd? What is the model? Il take a look 🫡
@@FPSRCDRIFT This is a very old Spec-R S2 Touring Car 4wd model. My son has recently become interested in RC and would like to try drifting a bit. I know that this is not a model adapted to such things, but I don't want to buy a drifting model now because my son may quickly change his interests... children 😅 This model does not have a front differential. Will this take away from the fun of "drift"?
If it’s just for your son to have a play with then 4wd will do just fine 👌🏼 get yourself some hard drift tires and drive it around a car park he will have loads of fun 😃👍
@@FPSRCDRIFT Ok. Thank you very much for your help👍
Can you do a video on gear ratios with spurs, pinions, and transmissions next? I like this style of video brother
I will note this down as a vid idea for the future 😄👍
👌👌👌💚
Thank you jobba 🫶🏻
usukani nge is a solid good chassi too
This is very true. Also fully upgraded out of the box. They are fairly rare in the UK
Thank you dear for this video, what do you think about Acuvance motors and esc? And what about Futaba 4pm controller, receiver, ct701 servo and GYD550 gyro? Thank you 🙏
I’m glad you liked it 🙏 I am a massive acuvance fan and run there motors and esc,s in all of my cars. Currently running 10.5 agile motors and Xarvis and Rad esc. When paired up with Futaba/sbus I don’t think there is a better setup. I have a fledge motor but feel the agile is just smoother 👍
@@FPSRCDRIFT Thank you for your reply so glad to find your channel, you gave me the straight answer I can’t be more pleased 😀 💐
Happy to help 🙏
Hey sam this is a great video as usual, so informative is it ok to post this on our group?
Hey Barry. Thank you for the kind words 🙏 yes please share away 👌🏼
Great video man, and love the channel 🙌🙏
Not gonna lie, I love the way ds rims feel 😬 what do you dislike about them?
Thank you I appreciate your comment 🙏 after testing a lot of wheels me brands I now notice they are unbalanced and hard as nails. Not saying there no good just I think there are better wheels. What works for one person might not work for the next ✌🏻
👽👊
🤖👊🏼
What about the Sanwa MTR?
Sanwa MT-R is a great transmitter 👌🏼
Any hint or tips for setting up a yd2 for ronins new p tile??
Hard to say without seeing how the car is set up but 1-2 degrees camber on rear. Soft springs up front and hard rear. 68-70% rear weight
Would you rather choose ReveD RDX as a beginner or if you have the budget to buy a Yokomo MD2.0 would you jump into it right away?
I would 100% still choose the RDX dude. MD2.0 is great but requires some tuning to get up to pace. Spend the money you save on getting better electronics 👍
@@FPSRCDRIFT Do you recommend the yokomo motor and esc?
I have a couple yokomo DX1 motors and absolutely love them. If your spending that sort of money I’d be tempted to look at acuvance motors and esc,s but it all really depends on what surface your planning on driving on
My girlfriend just gave me a kit for my birthday. I’ve always wanted to get into this so now I can. I have zero clue as to the parts I needed so this is great this helps! Does these parts fit with any kit?
nice!!!! what kit have you got?
Is there any chance that you prepare the list of electronics u've mentioned with ebay/amazon/aliexpress links to them ? For example i've searched for Toro 120 and there is something like TS120, Toro 120A and they look different. Thanks and great job. Im new into RC Drifting and that video is helpfull af ;)
I will get a detailed list of the products and put it in the description of this video dude. Problem with Amazon is these products aren’t on there as they’re too specialist. EBay might be your best bet. Appreciate the kind words and the feedback 🙏
I'm looking at getting into drifting any ideas on best go to for budget? I have a budget of roughly 200 ish amazing video btw
Check locally for second hand gear bro👌 thank you for the kind words
just bought my first drift car..mst 2.5 so I i hope ive made a good decision :)
Nothing wrong with a MST 2.5 👌 RMX I'm guessing? Loads of upgrades available for them too 👍👍
@@FPSRCDRIFT yes mate an RMX
Great Information lots of People get confused from others telling them you always need top end very expensive stuff
I use a Sanwa and run also a Sanwa ESC and love it ,you can adjust the ESC setting on the fly from the Transmitter
Thank you 🙏 appreciate the kind words. Yeah I had a sanwa m17 a little while back and loved it but unless your running a sanwa esc it felt like an unnecessarily expensive mt44. We are mostly using acuvance in the UK so Futaba makes the most sense for us
Interesting, so everyone is running gyros these day? Nobody ran them in the early days even the early days of counter steer, been out of RC few quite a few years now.
Absolutely everyone runs a gyro now 👌🏼
Feel like was a NPR broadcast 😂😂😂
Exactly what I was going for 😂👍
What’s the song name in the beginning?
I call it podcast intro music 1 😂👍
Why some rc drift car have front wheel
camber😅
whats your take on radiomaster tm12?
Do you men the mt12? Either way I have no experience with radiomaster so I wouldn’t like to say sorry
ah ye the mt 🙈 aw okay no worries
Sorry I can’t be more help 🙏
Crazy how I just watched a vid from a guy with 300k subs and was much worse than this. Broken down simply and quickly. Thanks
What if I don't want to follow or even accept the stupid modern trend of extreme rear weight bias to compensate for the 0-traction plastic pseudo-tires and ultra-hyper-mega-loser slow drifting I've seen in vids the last 2-ish years? What if I want a front heavy/front motor, much more scale-like setup with actual tires (the definition of tire requires it to be rubber of some sort) to make up for the grip?
I STG drift videos and setups from 6-12 years ago (12-ish being closer to the birth of RWD rc drift) look way better than the current stuff. So what do I do to achieve that on a budget? DIY or gfms? Buy something old/used? Try to mod one of the current kits/chassis?
I hear you bro but I’m not sure I can help. We’re all rear weight bias, 0-traction, plastic pseudo-tires over here 👌🏼 but if you haven’t driven one I highly recommend you do 🙏
@@FPSRCDRIFT I'd love to. I just don't know how to find tracks or groups near me. I'm in a semi-low populated part of the southeastern USA.
@Drunken _Hamster search for World Wide Drift RC on fakebook and when you find it. pop a comment up saying your new and your general location and ask if there are any tracks local. tag me in it too. l help where i can
