Just a clarification: the drone play is forward deploy, scouting choice to flip order, Mont’ka free dash now that he’s engaged (not recon sweep - that was a flub), and now you have a drone with 6 shots in great position with 2 APL remaining! Shoot + ship activation to a rail, a Grenadier, etc. A nice 1-2 punch :)
Twice here you mentioned the rail rifle, but most discussion I see recommends the ion rifle over the rails for pathfinders. Do you prefer rails, and if so why?
I use both actually. Just tend to default rail. The way rosters work this Ed you get two of each :) Most folks are using gunners to kill “big scaries”, if that’s the goal the Ion is likely the better “take all comers” pick imo, especially when unassisted via markers etc. The math likes both depending on the target. But personally, I’ve most often used gunners as more of a denial/compression element. They just kill average trooper models very reliably as they try for points but also flex into “oh crap” moments very well.

Really loved these videos and will keep returning to them to brush up a few things. Been playing pathies for awhile, but didn’t realise the reactivated shoot action isn’t an overwatch!
i've always been playing elite teams but they feel so weak these days so wanted to look into a horde team but we already have krieg and orcs in our pod. went back to last years xmas vids to find pathfinders
