This is Sri Lanka | A cinematic birdseye view of this beautiful country

What can we say about Sri Lanka! Shyani's home country and Simon's first experience visiting. We had the most amazing trip exploring the bottom left corner of this island nation.
Our trek started in Colombo where we stayed at the Marino Beach Colombo Hotel. We headed north east to Dambulla to see the Pinnawala Elephant Orphange and then to the amazing Dambulla Royal Cave Temple.
We checked into the Heritance Hotel Kandalama which was an amazing stay as we looked out over the wetlands. We headed out to Sigiriya (Lion Rock) where I proposed to Shyani (she said yes, wooo!)
Next stop was Kandy where we stayed at Theva Residency high in the hills, while there we explored the city and visited the Tooth temple.
We then stayed one night at The Grant Hotel in the stunning Nuwara Eliya, but not before visiting the Damro tea factory which is just so different to the rest of the country we visited.
Next day we borded the Ella train to Ella which was an amazing experince in itself and stayed at the Morning Dew Boutique Hotel in Ella that had the most breathtaking views.
We left Ella and made our way to Sithara Estate Bungalow in Hali-ela which is a family owned estate before heading out to Badulla for a private ceremony for Shyani's father.
We headed out to our last stop which was Galle, a beachside town with a rich dutch history that was a perfect way to end a holiday. Our hotel at Galle Agnus Unawatuna had the most peaceful sunset views that we wont forget.
Then it was the drive back to Colombo up the west coast to catch a flight to Singapore than home :)
