    I have ridden this machine almost every day for a few years. I have never broken it, it is the best machine I have ever had compared to ellipticals, treadmills, rowers, etc. Highly recommended

    Thats a nice price. I got one in 2020 and the axle exchange shaft broke off the plate on a pulley recently. The soldering looks inadequate to me. These things are great but I don’t think they last. I get the feeling they are made with parts that only handle infrequent use.

    Another good feature is that other than the legs and the lower handles, the metal frame is protected from perspiration. Still needs a bleach wipe wash off to keep metal pieces from rusting

    I have one of these machines, great review. However, one thing I cannot find is a power switch. Is unplugging the only way to turn off the machine?

    • @ALS_CO999
      @ALS_CO999 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @alexiamatthews3047 - There is no power switch, but as of the latest firmware update (OCT/NOV 2023), ProForm added a standby mode that "puts the unit to sleep" after a predetermined period of non-use (I believe it's three minutes).

    Thank you so much for the comprehensive review! A friend of mine has an elliptical trainer with the traditional stride length and he was saying these ones with the shorter stride length are much harder on your knees, would you agree with that or long-term there would be no impact on the knee joints please? Thank you very much!

    Just so everyone is clear, ifit is NOT free - and it is expensive! The woman spends a couple minutes essentially doing an infomercial for ifit - and it does NOT come with this machine. It's a montly fee, just like you'd pay by going to a gym (and having access to ALL the equipment). So not only are you handing over a huge amount of money for this machine, there is an ongoing fee in perpetuity (forever) if you want to use it with ifit. And as she says in the video, they make sure the machine does not allow you to add your own tablet device or phone and instead forces you to stare at their ifit subscription button.

    How did Matthew like this machine? I am 6' 5" also. I am curious if he thought the stride was sufficient and did he feel like he was not too tall for this machine? If I don't buy the ifit subscription are there still sufficient metrics and built in workout modes?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Matthew likes the HIIT H14 and finds the stride to be sufficient and challenging especially because it's more vertical in motion. There is a free version of iFit that has some onboard workouts as well as manual mode that's all available without a subscription. The metrics tracked are the same that are available with a subscription to iFit.

  • @daktusdurggery5505

    Does it work without the subscription?
    You did this review only 2 weeks ago but I see on their website this is the “old model”
    Is there a difference between this one and the new model?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can use it without a subscription. You can bypass the login page for iFit and have access to some preprogrammed workouts and a couple of iFit's trainer-led classes for free. Manual mode also doesn't require iFit or an internet connection.
      There isn't much of a difference between the two models, this one has pulse grips on the inner handles, while the newer one doesn't.

    • @daktusdurggery5505
      @daktusdurggery5505 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TreadmillReviewGuru why would they remove something like that?
      It was my understanding that the heart rate sensor was used to gauge the intensity of your workout for the machine to adjust in real time based on your biological markers using this pulse sensor?
      Why would they remove something like that, I guess I should cancel my order and get the other one

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@daktusdurggery5505 In order to use ActivePulse through iFit which tracks your heart rate you need to use the SmartBeat armband heart rate monitor, which is sold separately. Pulse grips only temporarily track your heart rate when you're gripping them, therefore they aren't as accurate as an armband or chest strap. We've been seeing some brands step away from including pulse grips on their machines, probably because they aren't as accurate as monitors.

    I can’t decide between the proform H7 and bowflex max trainer M6. Is this generally easier than the max trainer?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We unfortunately haven't tried the ProForm H7. The H14 and Bowflex M6 both offer a good amount of resistance to provide challenging workouts for most users. The ProForm H14 definitely gives a good workout.

    • @iconikreviews5377
      @iconikreviews5377 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TreadmillReviewGuru The H7 and H14 are the same machines, just different screen sizes which I don’t care for as I don’t want a monthly subscription. The biggest thing for me is that the H7/H14 is silent. I rode my spin bike yesterday for a good 40 minutes and because of its magnetic resistance you can’t hear a sound. There is a local store where I can probably go see the M6 in person but definitely not the H7/H14. The M6 looks more difficult of a workout since the stepping motion is more vertical. The H7/H14 looks a little easier since the stepping motion is somewhat horizontal as well as vertical. We know very well what the hiit intervals are like on the bowflex because the bell chimes loudly, alerting you when to go hard and when to slow down. But I can’t find anywhere how the Proform compares in that specific aspect? Does it also have a sound to guide you through a hiit workout like the bowflex does? Or do you just look at numbers on the screen to know when to go hard/soft etc? I feel like the bowflex might win in that aspect but the only way to know is to ask ppl who have tried the proform. Thanks.

    Oh you mentioned the other machines you compared this too, but I don't think you said anything else about them. So how does this one stack up against the ones you mentioned. Which one is better in your opinion. I am kind of leaning towards the Sole CC81 climber.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I really like the HIIT H14. The pedal stride is more like a stair-stepper than an elliptical. This machine isn't as versatile as the NordicTrack FS14i which can work as a stair-stepper and elliptical. The HIIT H14's stride feels more similar to the Sole CC81. I think for working your upper body the CC81 is more challenging though because it moves vertically, instead of horizontally like the HIIT H14. All of these are good machines, it just depends on what kind of workout you want.
