I’m also considering the ST 90 in terms of cushioning is the ST 90 softer or is the F 89 softer? Thank you so much. I would appreciate this feedback as I’m going down these rabbit holes of trying to figure out which one to get.
So, they both offer cushioning that you don't get when running outside on concrete, however, the F89 has more give in the deck which makes it feel easier to run on than the ST90. The ST90 helps absorb shock but it doesn't give you that extra little spring in your step that other motorized non-slat belt treadmills (like the F89) provide. The F89 still feels fairly firm, but it is easier to run on than the ST90 which feels more like running in sand. I'd say if you want more of a challenging treadmill that has more versatile training options, go with the ST90. If you want more give in the deck that will help running feel similar to running outside while providing cushioning, I'd go with the F89. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions!
When I tried a Sole treadmill at my local store, I found the speed adjustment on the handlebar very kludgy to use. I was hoping you could just push the speed switch for up or down to quickly increase/decrease the speed, but I found you had to make a distinct click for each increment and it really seemed to take my full concentration to adjust it (if that makes sense) to the point where I wasn't able to concentrate on running. Is this typical of Sole treadmills or could this just be a problem with the treadmill I was using? If that is to be expected, it really was distracting enough that it would be a deal breaker for me.
I'm really interested in the F85 but don't quite have the space. Any recommendations for something just as good but a few inches more compact? Thank you!
I would check out the Sole F63 or Horizon 7.0 AT these treadmills aren't as high-powered as the Sole F85, but they're excellent compact treadmills for running. The NordicTrack 1750 is as powered as the F85 and it is a couple of inches shorter. All of these are great treadmills and good alternatives to the F85. Let us know if you have any more questions!
I feel like folding is over rated. It’s still an awkward large machine taking up space even when up right, for any treadmill. I wonder how much that actually adds value.
Yeah, I would tend to agree with that. I’ve had an image treadmill for the past 20 years and just got rid of it so I’m shopping for new ones, and what I’ll say is when I would fold my image treadmill the deck was completely vertical and it was actually meaningful to fold it, it’s a little surprising to me that these newer treadmills are not made so that the deck will fold completely vertical when it’s pushed up.
Thank you so much for this amazing review! We really appreciate your insights and comparisons!
Thanks for the thorough and detailed review. I appreciate the work!
Is the F85 android powered like the f89? Big software difference.

@ amazing thank you so much as a fellow Creator. I really appreciate it to hear from you.
We bought a SOLE F80, we love it. I wish it had a larger screen though.

So which one would you choose?
The slight incline on both upon installation and presumably set at 0 seems odd imo

Great review. Thank you.
Why don’t you test Technogym? Specifically the Technogym Run.
Those treadmills are thousands of dollars apart.
Wonderful channel! It helped me a lot to make/confirm my preference and ultimate choice! F85 it will be! :-) :-)
She tells it all in the conclusion…

@ yeah that definitely makes a difference
