Love the bluing for contrast! What a gem! Young people in trade school should have exposure to the practical beauty of old time tools of their trades. Lovely restoration!
Thank you! The bluing is both funtional and esthetically pleasing 😁 There's got to be( or someone should write one ) a book about just that - the funtional beauty and craftsmanship and pride in vintage tools! 👍🛠
Fantastic Matt! The preservation on the handle was spot on! Love all the contrasting finishes. Like a worn flannel and new Vans. Love it! Take it easy Brother.
Hey George! Man, you hit the nail straight on with that description! 👍👍 I'd add my favorite faded jeans too! Great minds... Take care and my classy brassy coming soon 🛠👍
That beautiful wrench deserved all the care and attention you gave it. Very nice work with just the right amount of bluing. I'm glad it was in good condition to start with. Jaw teeth look very sharp, and I don't see signs that someone used it as a hammer. Unlike a lot of vintage tools, your wrench is still practical for daily use, but I think it's earned a nice retirement. BTW, my impression is that Erie county was an important tool manufacturing center for the country back in the day.
Thank you very much! I was surprised by just how good of shape it was in. I've seen some pretty abused ones! just great it enough so that it carries its age with pride now 😁 Erie was definitely an important place given its location on the lake. Thanks again and take care 👍🛠
That is right up my street, lovely job Matt. They really built them to last back then, it will go on for another century or two. Are those railway spikes for cupboard handles?
It was well taken care of, cleaned up nicely. ☕️🇨🇦
Hi OJ & Deb! you're right, it would not have lasted over 100 years if not taken care of. well made too. thanks and good to hear from you! 👍🛠
Hi Matt I’m a fan of the old tools as you know. The early inventors in 1800’s were so clever to think the designs thru’ and create the tools.
Hey there Brun! You're absolutely right, everything we use today can trace its roots back to those inventors. 👍🛠
Hi Matt, WOW! You did a fantastic job on that wrench, especially the handle, it gives it contrast. Thanks for sharing
Hi John, thanks! Take care 👍🛠
That's a really neat design a pipe and nut wrench in one.
Cool, isn't it! i have another one that weighs at least 5 to 6lbs 😁🛠 Take care Ash!
@MattsGarage1791 That will get some work done!! Wow!
A bit heavy to carry for self defense though 😬

What a fantastic piece, beautiful restoration .
Hi there PTL and thanks! Kinda like a 1950s Buick roadmaster...solid, heavy, and built to last! 🛠👍
That came out super clean. Love the handle with the story still there..
Big thanks Bigfoot! She's got age, character, and just a touch of class 🛠👍
@MattsGarage1791 yes and that what I did with my grandfather's stuff make it nice a newish but keep the story and character.
