Depends on the game difficulty and on what platform you play on.
Steam says 3k players on PC, and I can find regular matches.

It depends from your region, also. I suppose, most people play on suicide/HoE. Steam also has crossplay with EGS, which do not counts in statistics

Many players like myself quit KF2 after DLC weapons were announced and/or were simply getting burned out for playing a long time. The community is also overly toxic for a PvE game so there are players who prefer playing solo.

@@theforgeryttv6449 can't agree more. The introduction of DLC weapons genuinely pissed me off (most of them are even animated hideously) and I've had some crappy players in online matches.
