The Definitive Custom Car Installation Tutorial for Distance

Hello everyone! It's been a while since Spectrum was depreciated, and this tutorial has been a long time coming. Hopefully this clears up questions anyone else has had - I decided to make my own tutorial despite there being a few others as I know some users are looking for a more custom-cars specific mod installation tutorial.
Steps:
1. Download 7-zip (www.7-zip.org/download.html)
2. Download Centrifuge, and CustomCar mods (links below)
----- START HERE (STEP 3) IF YOU'RE UPGRADING -----
3. Make sure to rename/reset your custom track texture patch
4. Verify integrity of Distance through Steam
----- START HERE (STEP 5) IF YOU'RE INSTALLING FRESH -----
5. Run the Centrifuge.Installer.exe within the zip file you get from GitHub
6. Click on the ellipses, and enter your Distance directory (you can get this by going to Steam, finding Distance, right-clicking it, and clicking "Browse local files")
7. Click "Install"
8. Run Distance. You should see text in the upper left hand corner of the screen letting you know Centrifuge is installed properly - if you do not see this, something has gone wrong.
10. Close Distance
11. Extract the contents of the Custom Car mod that we downloaded in Step 2. Extract it into the Distance_Data\Centrifuge\ directory wherever your copy of Distance is installed, overwriting any files if asked
12. Start Distance, and if everything went properly then you should see the custom cars pop up

13. Use the "Custom car repository" link below, and move any custom car files into the "Assets" folder of the Custom Car mod as shown

How do I create a level folder to put AcceleRacers tracks?

Mr Omega. Can you provide any link to download your Centrifuge folder and subfolder completely? I messed up the folder placements and don't how they supposed to be to begin with. The custom car mod in github has so many (version or folders) all different from yours in this video. I'm so confused. Please help.

Where did you get the centrifuge installer.exe. It is not there on the site linked.

For some reason, I am not receiving the notification on the top left of my screen, yet centrifuge does work, and I have custom cars in game, so I am unsure why this is happening lol

Hey man, I ve been a fan of your work ever since you first started showcasing the acceleracers mods for Distance.
I recently got into modding myself and I would like to get a crack on the cars modding. I have commented a few weeks back asking whether or not the models that are available can be opened in Blender, to which you said no those are the mod files not the models. I tried contacting some of the creators but the only thing I got was someone trying to scam me, money for the models, and then made fun of me.
I was just trying to find some models of my favorite cars, to mod for myself and I get this kind of behavior. Could you maybe help me out? I hope the modding communinty is not toxic like that guy.

So it's a bit fraught, unfortunately. Within Distance a lot of modelers give consent to have their work put into car files for use by the community - if I understand correctly, what you're trying to do is mod some of these models into another game?
Your best bet would be to join a hot wheels discord, or modeling discord, or my discord (I can generate a link if you're not already a part of it) and ask for freebies. A few of the models we use in Distance are ripped from games and so nobody really owns them, those one are pretty well up for grabs.
