as a stay at home mom, who also homeschools, all this talk of events, gives me a chuckle. i have no events to go to and my extended family is so casual for get togethers. i do enjoy makeup, but often its just my husband and kids that see my face. that being said, i like luxury makeup for the application experience. its wonderful to apply some chanel eyeshadow in the morning and feel luxurious, even if its just to wash dishes and cook for the rest of the day. my style is this capsule collection where i use what i buy on a daily basis.
I had a HUGE collection of high-end makeup, but in the past year I’ve decluttered most of it (I had over 450 lipsticks, e.g.). I’m trying to whittle it down to just the essentials, what I want to travel with, what I love. Now, before buying makeup, I ask myself ‘do I want to carry that in my carryon luggage?’ If not, I resist the urge. I make better decisions this way, and I am more focused on what really pleases me instead of what the trends are. Great video!
I admire your resolve with the make-up decluttering. I have a large collection of high-end make-up as well, and if these last 3 years have taught me anything, it's that we all need a lot less 'things' in general. Interestingly enough, I tend to buy the same shades more or less, and I am beginning to feel I want to pare down to the essentials, to those items I love and grab often. Maybe keeping one or two special items, a make-up declutter sounds like a very good idea. I don't think I will even miss most of the items anyway.
I have a major high end collection, too. I would love to pare it down. May I ask you, what did you do with your decluttered products? That's my quandary at the moment.
Whoa its hard to imagine, i have about 15 lipsticks and i tought i went way overboard with the hoarding since im a minimalist when it comes to make up except lip products
@@spgard29i give a lot to my mom if it is clean and in a bottle type that could minimize risk of contamination or infection (like a pump versus an open tub). We have similar skin and complexion
Great recommendations. Another i’d add would be a travel face palette like the hourglass or dior holiday palettes. Super convenient to have and for auto pilot days.
As someone with rosacea I would caution others who have it against the channel cc cream. It contains a few commonly known rosacea triggers such as denatured alcohol, fragrance, and chemical sunscreen. You are right, those Laura Mercier blushes are so good.
I love that this wasn't a minimal collection 😂 because you're right! We LOVE makeup lol it's just fun to see what makeup products are staples and never mess up the makeup! I recently purchased the Givenchy powder bronzer last night at 2am so I'm excited for it to come in the mail 😂❤️ I think it's being discontinued so I'm happy that I was able to get my hands on it!!! I would love to see you do a full face video with Guerlain beauty!!!
Ooh that's a great idea! I love Guerlain :) I feel like this is more of a realistic collection. I love having options and different products for different seasons/occasions. It would be so boring if we only had one blush or one eyeshadow palette lol xx
I love this collection. It's classic. Day to night, weekend, special occasion. I love collecting Chanel but since Lisa Eldridge launched her makeup line I realized I am using her products more than Chanel. They took the place of the other brands I used to use. The lipsticks are so good, sometimes I forget to touch up. The foundation is phenomenal. I'm curious for the next launches.
I enjoy quality over quantity, and have been purchasing classic make-up more often over new releases. It was great to see a smaller collection that still offers enough variety that you can obtain different looks.
Loved this video! I particularly like how well thought out it seemed and how you showed us what your curated collection would be while giving tips on how people could customize the products for their needs and preferences. And I 100% agree with only needing one highlighter!
Erin, you were right on target with this video. I've always been a girly-girl when it comes to makeup. I am closing in on 60 and started skincare at about 12 and never looked back. I always did my grandma's makeup for church as well as her hair. I keep an almost exact collection of your products and agree that each item has a place, especially foundation. Thank you for sharing, you are lovely as always. ✨
Thanks, Erin, for the creme blush recommendation. I have an old Shiseido stick blush and one from Chanel Le Beige collection. Neither of those are pigmented enough for me, so I’ll try your suggestion. By the way, if someone raided my closet, or I died, no one would ever be able to say “She didn’t have enough makeup!” LOL.
I have the Guerlain bronzer and the Chanel cream bronzer and they are perfect together! I love this type of video, great job! I think my next Chanel purchase will be the long wear liquid lipstick in this video!
I love this video and your picks! I always see essentials and is just around 10 products I always have a variety of each products like 3 of each different finishes and then like 10 eyeshadow palettes so that I don’t feels constrained
Some great choices. As much makeup as I have, I tend to gravitate toward my core regular items. I love a minimal natural look on the skin, so I love the Chanel Water Fresh Tint for every day. My other is the Lancôme foundation stick, but foundation sticks don’t work for everybody.
Great video! So happy you did this ☺️ I love makeup but I don’t wear much. So I have to keep my collection minimal or it will expire before I can use up the product. Great advise thank you for sharing.
Really enjoyed this Erin. I'm still using/loving my CHANEL Les Beiges 9pan palette as well. I keep hoping they will come out with one every year - would be a bestseller for sure.
Love my ultra tenue long wear lipstick. My only complaint is, not enough shades. I don’t understand why they have such dark shades and bright blinding shades. 💕
I totally agree! I want to purchase a ton more but some of those shades are not “everyday wearable” for the average woman (I.e. Me! 😂). Also, the current shade range is pretty much out of stock everywhere! Get it together Chanel.

Erin, did you try armani luminous silk CONCEALER? I heard from a MAU thatvit is the best and I truly agree. I tried a lot from pat mc grath to sisley. Armani is the least visible and still covers
The Lip Gloss link went to a Charlotte Tilbury palette, not the Tom Ford gloss. I enjoyed the video. It’s always helpful to see picks from someone who lives in a humid climate year-round, it’s very challenging for makeup to keep it looking fresh, and your picks are your tried-and-true for Miami.
I have normal to combo skin, no real blemishes or discolorations, but I sweat profusely. And I just love the video so I wanted to throw mine out there: Vitalumiere Aqua is awesome for light and LA Mer is amazing for medium to full (and it ALWAYS makes my skin better when I take it off), Becca under eye color corrector (under foundation), Westman Atelier contour stick (no fail!), Wayne Goss countour/bronzer duo (amazing of u love cool undertones and a indistinguishable shimmer), pressed powders Hourglass!, pressed powder blush Hourglass, cream blush (Hourglass has best longevity but not color selection) Nudestix, cream highlight Hourglass, powder highlight the Hourglass Ambient Metallic trio or Dior, illuminator Cover Fx Liquid, mascara Dior Iconic Overcurl, lipstick YSL (so many colors, best selection) rouge pur couture #10, Dior Addict taupe bar.

After one of your Chanel foundation video's, I've been hooked on the ultra le teint velvet, but on the Belgian website for the moment I can't find it anymore :( Also love this video:)
I have finished up my face powders. I now stopped shopping and stick with chanel loose powder i love it so much. I already have an oily skin so i don’t need that much, that is the highlighter itself 😂 i have been eyeing that lip product from chanel for so long now but i still have a bunch of lipstick that i want to finish up 🤞🏼 thank you, great video!
Great list. Personally I would add an eyelash primer...Tarte, Lancome and Dior all make great ones and they improve any mascara. Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow is my hero product. I have alot of separate bronzers and hilighters, but none as good as this old CT product. ❤️
Thank you for mentioning your go to Light-Medium Coverage Foundation...the other day I was wondering what that was, because Foundation is the one thing I haven't found the right one for me, so I will try the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. You've sold me on the Chanel LE ROUGE DUO Lipstick/Gloss...I dislike having to reapply lipstick/gloss, so one that lasts is a must for me, especially when at work - we are all in an open space, so having people see me reapplying lipstick throughout the day is not something I want to do, but need to. I also like using a Lip Primer underneath a lipstick/gloss, as that makes regular/non-lasting lipsticks last longer as well! Also, your gold Makeup Tray is stunning and like royalty! Where is it from?
Really great idea and useful tips! One of the problems I encounter is that I change colour very easily and I always end up struggling finding the right shades for concealer and foundations. Some of the other colour products tend to look different on me if I am tanned. What would you suggest? To have two makeup wardrobes? One for the summer and one for the winter months? Thanks!
I completely understand since I sunless tan so much. I go between very pale and very bronze and I need complexion products for both! I would recommend a liquid bronzer like the BareMinerals or Iconic London Sheer Bronze. That way you can customize your shade by making it a little deeper when you need to :) xx
The Ultra Le Teint Velvet is one of my holy grail foundations (if not my tried and true holy grail! ❤), but they have been out of stock for at least a couple months! I hope it's coming back soon. I rarely use my current bottle so I don't run out. 😢
Thank you so much for sharing. Fyi your face might be getting flash back from the SPF because your foundation looks like it is 1 shade lighter than it should be. You're beautiful and a great makeup consultant! Have a great day!
You can layer them but I would do a small amount of the CC cream first and then a small amount of the ultra le teint on top. Both are full coverage so you shouldn't need very much to achieve a very even complexion :) xx
From what I've been told Chanel is dealing with inventory issues but it's not going anywhere. I will definitely keep you posted if I hear anything else! xx
I was with you up until the harsh call on collecting eyeshadow palettes. Claiming it's a waste that "drawers and drawers of eyeshadow palettes" will never get used, could easily be applied to all the other items you collect. Your lip products, your fragrances, etc, it's all excessive. Even beauty influencers are limited to just one face and a finite number of days in a year. In fact, liquid items will sour long before any powder eyeshadow does. You're usually affirming, so I thought the eyeshadow palette commentary was out of character. :)
Hi Maureen, as I mentioned, this is what works for me and the perfect collection will look different for everyone. This video is about curating a smaller makeup collection of the products you will truly use. I’ve actually never been a huge fan of large palettes, in 2019 I only had 3 12 pan CHANEL palettes and that’s it. I always preferred smaller palettes because they’re less overwhelming. In 2020, like so many people I went crazy buying every new launch and ended up with a ton of large palettes that I barely touch. I use up multiple foundations/liquids every year and I’ve gone through so many lipsticks and fragrances over the years. I’ve never once finished a large palette. I’ve been trying to finish my Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk palette since 2019 and I’ve hit pan on 3 shadows. I constantly hear from people who are overwhelmed by the new releases and feel pressured to keep up with the trends by purchasing everything they see on social media. Large eyeshadow palettes is the obvious place to cut back in my opinion. You’re right though, it’s wasteful to have a large collection of everything which is why I implemented my no buy. I’m able to finish a lot of the products I already have but unfortunately I’ve yet to finish an eyeshadow palette :)
as a stay at home mom, who also homeschools, all this talk of events, gives me a chuckle. i have no events to go to and my extended family is so casual for get togethers. i do enjoy makeup, but often its just my husband and kids that see my face. that being said, i like luxury makeup for the application experience. its wonderful to apply some chanel eyeshadow in the morning and feel luxurious, even if its just to wash dishes and cook for the rest of the day. my style is this capsule collection where i use what i buy on a daily basis.

Great tip! Thanks!
Great tip! Thanks!

Girl you don’t look 34!!!! Your voice is really pretty!!!!
Thank you! 35 in a few weeks! lol xx
The Ultra Le Teint Velvet is one of my holy grail foundations (if not my tried and true holy grail! ❤), but they have been out of stock for at least a couple months! I hope it's coming back soon. I rarely use my current bottle so I don't run out. 😢
What color is on your nails? Lovevit
Thank you so much for sharing. Fyi your face might be getting flash back from the SPF because your foundation looks like it is 1 shade lighter than it should be. You're beautiful and a great makeup consultant! Have a great day!
Great recommendations 🥰💕
Is the Guerlain foundation being discontinued? They barely have any shades available on that website.
I hope not! But it's possible, especially since distribution has always been so limited xx
Can i layer the cc cream and ultra le teint velvet? Or will it breakdown the ultra le teint?
You can layer them but I would do a small amount of the CC cream first and then a small amount of the ultra le teint on top. Both are full coverage so you shouldn't need very much to achieve a very even complexion :) xx
Please tell me where you got the pretty gold perfume tray. I love💛 it!
Thank you! It's from Homegoods! xx
Erin!! please where are your tops from?? so cute I want to get some.. xoxo
Also the necklace pls? I jut got something similar but this one seems a bit more like a gold chockers very cute
I love this kind of vedio ♡
I'm so glad Cindy! xx
my chanel counter told me the lumiere aqua foundation has been discontinued...???
From what I've been told Chanel is dealing with inventory issues but it's not going anywhere. I will definitely keep you posted if I hear anything else! xx
I’m
34 too ❤️
Strangely enough the CC cream dries out my skin. I had to return it. Too bad, I had high hopes.
Omg I have all of them plus many more 🤬
Hi, I'm in Fort Lauderdale, where do you live?
💜💜💜
I think nobody lives in northern Canada
lol thanks for the giggle. What about Alaska? Anywhere that's not tropical!
All the plastic in all the wasted eyeshadow pallettes is so bad. I can't help but think about all the waste. I like your collection.
Can you do the same for skin care ❤️
You forgot what's on your nails. I think nails are part of everyday makeup.
