    I've had a few questions about intermittent fasting. This video is about my own experience. Do any of you practice intermittent fasting?

      This is great info Debbie, thank you. I already do 12/12, but I'm going to try to push it it out. I LIVE for my coffee and creamer in the am, so I'm going to try push it in the evening and just have dinner earlier. Ill go SLOW though. 🙋😊👋😂

      Yes, Debi, I do ... 16-8 works best for me too, I'ts great and I've lost a significant amount of weight while feeling terrific and eating wonderful food. You did a good job explaining the topic and giving people a reference for more as well. 💟 Oh, BTW, I am probably "technically" breaking my fast in the morning with a cup of coffee which has in it plant-based milk, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. But, it still works very well for me,

      @@leemariesanchez6033 Thank you so much. As far a your coffee in the morning, if it' working for you then keep it going. I think we all need to do things that work for us and make the adjustments we need for our lifestyle. Best of luck to you.

    Love this topic. Cellular regeneration is a natural process. Our ancestors didn't eat 3 meals and snacks. They ate when they found food. Then maybe didn't find food til the next day. And did a lot of walking and stalking in between.

    I did intermittent fasting over about 2 weeks, beginning in late January. Just two days ago, I switched how and when I ate, so that my first meal was big (in the AM), my second meal is small, about 5 hours later, and my third meal is medium sized and is eaten around 4PM. Today I showed a 2 pound drop, after being on a plateau for 2 months. I'll continue this path, even though it feels strange eating my last meal at 4.

    Love IF! No snacking, no eating all day, just eating within an eating window. Work out fasted, have so much more energy, no food to lay me down to make me tired. Stop eating by 7:00 p.m. so no food is needed to be digested while sleeping, get better sleep!

    Love intermittent fasting! I fast 16 - 20 hours a day (exact number of hours varies from day to day). My entire life, I never liked eating breakfast in the morning. I cannot tell you the number of times I heard over the years, “It’s not healthy to skip breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” I am so relieved that research has finally supported that it is okay to skip breakfast, lol! All I had to do was stop after-dinner snacking, and voila, easy-peasy intermittent fasting.

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it's really not that hard and make so much sense. Most of us don't wake up hungry. We have been brainwashed every since we were kids to think we had to eat first thing in the morning.. I heard the same thing about skipping breakfast as a kid. Yay for science!

    • @kristinehelsing4510
      @kristinehelsing4510 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ChewonVegan Yes, and what is really ironic is that for my generation as kids (I am 69), the “most important meal of the day” was typically sugary boxed cereal with cow’s milk, or pop tarts, or white flour pancakes or waffles with lots of butter and sugary syrup, or greasy eggs with bacon, sausage and fried potatoes . None of it healthy!

    So many of the people that do IF insist you have to follow a keto diet for the best results so you burn fat quicker, which is a load of BS! Interesting to hear real world benefits because there is so much conflicting info.

    Awesome video's... Thanks for this video.. I have been doing intermittent fasting many times with Juice, but yes, when its back to normal you pick the weight up again..
    But I started the Starches Solution with intermittent fasting and with The Mary's mini... By just eating Potatoes... I'm not a big eater, but I did eat to much Cookie's, eggs and cheese and bread.... Al the bad foods... and I didn't eat enough veggies..
    Last week was my 1st week and already lost 4kg's so I'm aiming to do this for as long as possible, then I will start adding more veggies...
    Thanks for all the video's and nice Resipe's... I enjoy it and appreciate it...

    👋 hello where does sodium and water fit into fasting .
    That's my only issue ...
    When I drink a lot of water I can get a strange brain fog .
    But if I have too much Himalayan salt while fasting I get bloated especially if if I've had it close to my meal .
    It could be that glucose opens the cell up and then it's too much ..
    M so confused on electrolytes and I do understand everyone may be different

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have an electrolyte drink that my doctor recommended, It gives me the perfect balance of salt, potassium etc. I usually have a cup four sigmatic mushroom coffee in the morning. I think that helps too.

    Okay, I just fasted for 16 hours and I am starving. I did eat an apple at hour 15. I do Starch Solution for 7 years now but just can't get my weight down. I am thinking that two meals a day may be enough if I can get over the hunger.

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Please don't ignore your hungry cues. Start with 12 hours. If I have days that I am truly hungry before my 16 hour then I eat. The point is not to starve yourself. If you feel hungry drink a glass of water and if you still feel hungry then go ahead and eat. Focus on the 50/50 plate and keeping your meals low calorie density. It's okay to be flexible with your fasting hours.

      I've had troubles with never being satisfied not matter how much I eat my entire life. I started taking magnesium supplements and it's really helping with hunger issues and sleeping. Perhaps you should research Magnesium. I went from always hungry to highly considering fasting in about 2 weeks of supplementing. It just happened and I wasn't trying to force it. I can quite easily manage hunger now, it was never an option before, and don't even want to eat 3 meals a day.

    I havent been able to get my FBS or my weight down as WFPB. My FBS was running around 130. Within a couple weeks of OMAD (just a big lunch) my FBS dropped to 85 to 92, and I lost 18 lbs in a month. But i slipped up and got off track, so I need to get back to it. For many years my FBS was 91 on SAD diet, but my insulin level was high. So things were starting back then

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was able to lose 15 pounds with WFPB no oil and intermittent fasting. I eat from 1200 to 700 and then fast. I still do that to this day. I could never to OMAD, I would definitely get off track. You just have to figure out what works for you. I wish you good luck on your health journey.
