That's what it takes to keep the originality and functionality of the vehicle. Nice work. My Dad had a zephyr 6 mark 1, big brother of the consul - a little longer and with a 138 cu in 6 cylinder. Very vague memories of it.
You could have copied the Hillman captive nuts. Guaranteed to spin in place in the worst possible locations. It looks like you’ve unlocked the secrets of the ancients with the last one. It’s quite a clever design. Nice old-school fitting work! 👍🏻
Why does 2 tangs vs 4 tangs matter? It's not the tangs that are holding anything with a bolt screwed in - they're only there to keep the nut in place when there's no bolt. The reason you find ones with 2 flanges everywhere is they're used in 19" equipment racks for servers and telecom equipment - every day bags and bags of them get chucked out even though they're brand new and have never been used.
Very creative and excellent work!
Thank you! Cheers!
I have no idea how this ended up in my recommended, but I guess the algorithm knows me better than I do bc I watched it lol
Same!🤣🤣🤣

Very nice work, thanks. I might try making some for my early 1960’s Ariens snowblower that I can’t seem to find.
Thanks for the comment

My father had the Mk2 Zephyr in the 1960’s. Two-tone red and white. I still remember his astonishment when he took it out to an entire 70mph! 👍🏻
Very good video. Very informative. You really can learn something new every day.
Interesting make. It has some movement but absolutely will tighten down once needed as well... Thumbs Up!
Yes, thanks

Good call!
This is why concourse builds are so pricey! I will never to another factory correct rebuild again!
I agree, it turned out the body is not so good as I first thought.

Yes, I did see lots of those server racks when I searched. I think the holes are smaller than the holes on the car.
In the usa we call them useless
