At night, the international departures are packed because airlines want to land in US and Europe in the mornings as soon as their airports open. Domestic departures is active at nights because early morning flights are way cheaper and very convenient if you want to maximise your time during the day in both the cities.
He’s a shill for the airlines and his experience is carefully curated by the PR departments of the airlines. When they know you’re coming it’s impossible to get a realistic experience and an honest review.
Etihad has always tried to copy the business model that made Emirates become what it is today. Emirates had the advantage of Dubai being both a tourist destination and a central transfer hub. And they heavily leaned into that branding. By comparison, Abu Dhabi has the oil and its the capital of the country. But they haven’t sold the city to the world as a destination like Dubai has done. That, combined with the risky investments in two carriers that ended up closing down in Air Berlin and Alitalia, Etihad’s real problem is poor management and investments. Which when combined with the lack of an image for its destination city doesn’t produce many passengers for an airline trying to sell itself as upscale but cost cutting everywhere it can.
Abu Dhabi will never be a destination city like Dubai is. Dubai has lax rules compared to the rest of the gulf region. Arabs themselves flock to Dubai on weekends to party.
@@heidirabenau511Etihad tried to copy Emirates and they instead ended copying Swissair, as if Hogan got taught by Bruggisser, McKinsey and Co. and the rest of the Swissair management. Hogan used to sell Yugoslav Airlines tickets in Melbourne(or Sidney, I can’t recall where he worked) in the 80s.

Not familiar with Dan but Sam Chui is a shill for the airlines and Josh Cahill always rubbed me the wrong way with his constant complaining and overall snobbery.
This is perfect timing as I'm flying with Etihad for the first time in 2 weeks on my birthday, London Heathrow to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi, so this gives me an idea of what to expect from them.
"instead of complaining about everything for the sake of views" I LOVE that!! Just when I thought simply Aviation couldn't get any better you guys are now "throwing shade" & I'm loving it! That's one of the reasons I love your Channel compared to other reviewers who I shall not name. On a different note I want to thank David for doing such a great job the brutally honest videos I've been enjoying the one's has been posting all summer they keep getting better and better. There was an award for best Aviation reviewer in 2023 I think David deserves it! No nonsense, no drama, polite curious about different cultures without judgement..and..my favourite part: all those tidbits & background trivia about the Airlines and airports being reviewed. The certainly sets you apart from the "competition" (which isn't even all that competitive)✌️
Great review. I'm a fan of Etihad. I hope it resumes flying to my home city of Perth, Australia, in the not-too-distant future, maybe after the new terminal at Abu Dhabi has been opened.
A new terminal has been put at Tenerife South for all UK, Ireland flights and even some flights with United to EWR and JFK. It’s connected to the current terminal as well.
i flew etihad liike three times and it wasnt bad it was before covid and the food and ife was great but i havent experienced after covid etihad flights thanks for sharing
That in flight entertainment system is impressive. It’s the best one I’ve ever seen I believe. I love how you can pair your own Bluetooth headphones to it and you can sync it up with other people
Simply Aviation, I absolutely love your videos. Especially because you DO provide useful information instead of complaining about everything! Some channels that I do still subscribe to only complain about the tiniest things…. On First Class and Business, as if the majority of us fly on them.
Etihad now uses the A35K to Tokyo as well. It was a nice experience overall. If you log in through Etihad Guest, you get free wifi for messaging which is quite nice. Pairing headphones takes some time, but it works great after that. I flew on A6-XWC :)
i flew ethiad this summer, and was fairly impressed with the airlines! I still think Emirates could be a tidy bit better, but it is definatley a competetor!
Using Qatar this winter for the first time. Used Emirates last year long haul from Heathrow to Bangladesh via Dubai and loved them even though I usually fly direct with Biman who are also great. But I will defo see if I can fly with Etihad next time, they look great.
I didn't realize that the New Production Standard A350 was already in service. Internet articles said it wouldn't enter until 2024. Going back to watch your recent Iberia video and cross referencing to fleet data, I can see that the first A350-900 NPS was delivered to Iberia in Sept 2022. I assume that one or more A350-1000 NPS have been delivered by now, but I can't find that info with a quick search. Does anyone know when and to whom the first -1000 NPS went? I think Airbus should add something to the full model number to denote NPS vs original A350, such as they have N for neo and X for cabin flex, but I can't see that they have added any designation in this case. Have they?
surprised etihad is using the a350-1000 for a 2hr flight & not the a320 may b bcs of the number of passengers flying between mumbai & abu dhabi is a lot 8:39-9:17 man that ife is so cool👌 & smart

Etihad is going to start service to my hometown of Boston on March 31, 2024. Unfortunately, they will not be using their A350-1000s, they will be using their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with 28 business class seats and 262 economy class seats
Hi I am from Kerala, India. I flew Emirates, Flydubai, Air India, IndiGo, AirArabia and Air India Express. I've wanted to fly Etihad Airways but the Airport I used to go [Kozhikode Int'l Airport (CCJ)] won't service Etihad Airways.
I have never been on etihad Airways however I remember one of your videos which was the Etihad first class suite, served undercooked meat, and that was pretty outrageous for me.
It is great to see that Etihad is finally back, it was disheartening to watch as soo many friends and colleagues were sent packing during the airlines financial decent. Hopefully this time around the leader is not an olive oiled tongued Australian CEO with unrestrained access to cash and delusions of grandeur.

He has probably worked within the industry prior to being an influencer. Usually aircraft manufacturers have their own preferred seats suppliers and the aircraft come fully specced and information is public knowledge if you Google it and lastly there are not many manufacturers of aircraft seats
Are you pleadinng for a 10 seat ECONOMY configuration when everyone is now saying that long haul seats in econnomy are worse than beinng packed in a sardine can! Etihad can use its 9 seater as a clear differentiator and can maintain if not slightly increase their yields by charging more and giving as good if not better service than the other Gulf carriers. There is clearly an opportunity to do better than the lagging Qatar ( whose planes and service have fallen drastically since their heydays) and also the " new improved" Emirates which is just a dustup of the old with some bells and whistles with no marked improvement in in flight services including the attentitveness of its flight attendants. I think Etihad as newly reborn should lead the pack of Gulf carriers not follow the pack.
The legroom in economy is not ideal if you are 6ft tall or more. Its extremely narrow and your knees will touch the front seat. Cheaper airlines have better legroom. The flight was great but the legroom was really bad.
Just one question to @simply aviation. I do not understand why do you release a year old matrial just now? Is it such a huge backlog or what is behind? Please no criticism here, I’m just trying to understand it. Yep and btw how do I became a member? I’d like to chip some coins to the pot for you to continue the great work you do!!
There are many reasons contributing to this, and it annoys me very much too. The main reasons is that we don't do Simply Aviation full-time as a job, because I believe in making videos that are helpful, and if I started making lots of money with TH-cam, I am afraid of falling down the clickbait trap like others. So, we try to re-invest as much as possible into our channel, and that also means I have a separate job and other things to do. So sometimes, certain videos are on our to-do list, but then new videos come in which if they are more important I try to cut as soon as possible (Zipair, Air India, Iberia, among others of our recent videos). That means videos like this one sometimes sit around and never get cut, so it might take a long time. But I try to research all of the information in the video as accurately as possible, and if the product changed significantly between filming and cutting, I sometimes just toss the video completely. Because of this, we have footage for more than 150 videos there were never released, because people would just complain about how old the video is. So plenty of airlines we've never showcased on our channel have actually been filmed but never posted, because we didn't manage to find the time to work on every video (a Brutally Honest episode is around 20 hours of work). Supporting us financially also means we might be able to outsource certain tasks in the future and thus work more efficiently. If you go on our channel, there are different tabs like "HOME", "VIDEOS", and "SHORTS", and there you should also see a tab called "MEMBERSHIP", which is where you can find all of the information you need. Thank you so much for understanding! :)

Etihad tried to copy Emirates' business model, they tried to be a global airline, and then they had to downsize to what they are.
Emirates business class s*ck. 2 3 2 is pretty outdated for their 777's
