Nice mate! Disappointing and odd that there was no inaugural event! Avgeeks usually offer the airlines free advertising! I agree that the EK A359 looks brilliant! BTW you might have tried this anyway, but in the past I have been able to get the airline to waive the change fee if they've changed the aircraft. I've explained that I booked specifically for that aircraft and the better product therefore the change was on their end rather than mine.
The reason Emirates didn't have some sort of welcome salute etc is because they had already been to Edinburgh before with their Boeing 777-300ers years ago. In 2022 I was fortunate to go on Qatar's A350-1000 (A7-ANP) to Edinburgh in place of their usual Airbus A350-900. It was Qatar's first visit to Edinburgh with their A350-1000. Didn't receive a water salute...nothing.
A350s mostly don't come with first class as not as profitable as it once was. So it's just not Emirates that didn't put first class in their A350s but all the other companies as well...
Emirates is a conundrum sometimes. Lavish cabins and first class service on board, gates like herding cats. Expensive champagne , cheap out on inaugural perks and give a keyring ... Still want to fly them again one day ...
There is so much you're leaving out of the A380 story. Emirates wanted MORE A380s, not less. They didn't swap to A350 because the A380s were too large (they weren't). As a matter of fact, Emirates lobbied Airbus hard to create an A380neo, with more capacity and newer engines (A380-800 was not meant to be the large variant, in fact it was the shortest). They were close to getting what they wanted, willing to buy 100+ aircraft, but Airbus dragged their feet, because at that point no other airlines than Emirates wanted to sign firm orders for the A380neo. And these days we are seeing airlines around the world putting the A380 back into service, but there's no way to start production again because the production lines have been tooled for A320neo series. The Boeing 777X variant on order are now delayed by a decade, and none of them have been certified. It's also a bit too small for Emirates' business model.
I think everyone seems to have forgotten the role that the A330-200s and A340-300s and 777-200ERs played in Emirates's fleet. Many of these did not have first class. The A350s are there to replace almost one-for-one the two class 777-300ers, 777-200lrs and fill in the gap that the A330s and 777-200ERs left. This means that compared to 2017, Emirates's first class footprint will not be greatly reduced. Y'all need to stop panicking that Emirates first class will become scarce. It won't.

16:34 Hi Patrick, I think Emirates have excluded 1st Class from their A350 900 fleet because compared to their normal aircraft, these planes in the 900 series are too small. It makes more sense to maximise space and profitability by using business as the most premium option in this 900 series. Had the engines been reliable and they acquired the A350 1000, I reckon we'd have seen the inclusion of 1st class.
It's also worth considering the routes and the markets which these planes will be used on. Consider the DXB-MAN routes, where Emirates use A380s, but it's only a two class plane - business and economy - and you have economy seats on the upper deck. No first class on these planes. In comparison, a route like DXB-SYD, you've got all four classes.
RR are making improvements to the engines, but will take until 2028 to complete in full on the 1000. Clark said they are waiting on the improvements. Surprised they haven't placed the order, but maybe they will at some point considering the waiting list.
@StopMediaFakery I personally wouldn't place the order ;agreeing with Tim Clark. We've seen too many broken commitments from engine manufacturers (& that's on top of airline manufacturers). It's probably best the onus fall on RR to get the xwb 97 working to a level that supports the climates in which a huge airline like Emirates operates. I think even former Qatar CEO had his concerns with the A350 1000 engines. Personally, if boeing ever get their act together on the 777X program, they'd be better off keeping the A350 900 for smaller markets and the 777-9 for the more lucrative. The A380s will still be around for a while longer so buying the A350 1000 alongside the 777-9 almost seems surplus to requirement.

These airlines should be flown on the following routes: T'Way Air: Paris (CDG) - Seoul (ICN) - Airbus A330-200 (Seat 46A) Korean Air: Honolulu (HNL) - Manila (MNL) KE 054 (HNL-ICN): Seat 54A - Boeing 787-10 KE 625 (ICN-MNL): Seat 51A - Airbus A321neo Air Premia: Seoul (ICN) - Newark (EWR) - Boeing 787-9 (Seat 6A - Premium Economy) Delta Air Lines: Salt Lake City (SLC) - Seoul (ICN) - Airbus A350-900 (Seat 5A - Inaugural / Delta One) Korean Air: Seoul (ICN) - Vancouver (YVR) KE 075 (ICN-YVR): Seat 12A - Boeing 787-10 The differences between the two Korean Air flights you should take on the Boeing 787-10 is that the one from Honolulu - Seoul should be in Economy Class, while the one from Seoul to Vancouver should be in Business Class. For the Seoul - Vancouver flight, I'd suggest picking their second daily flight (KE 075), as it departs much later at night and you should also take it on the same day as when you land on Delta's Inaugural Flight from Salt Lake City to Seoul, since you'd be seated in Business Class. Small correction on your remark at 09:31 about not seeing the first batch of the Emirates A350’s in the Western Hemisphere, due to lack of a crew rest. Your flight to Edinburgh ended up in the Western Hemisphere 😂 as is Dublin. If you mean the Americas or Australia, then yes you are right that on non-stop flights from Dubai they are unlikely to be used there, unless on the 1 stop flights like DXB-BCN-MEX v.v. or DXB-MXP-JFK v.v or DXB-ATH-EWR as they swap crews half way.

I am surprised you put this video out so very quickly but you were the first one so well done! 😂 I do think the choice to exclude the well renowned Emirates First Class product is a bit surprising but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the plan for Emirates to rid themselves of First Class once the A380 retires someday, so the choice to exclude it on the A350 isn’t too unexpected I’d say. I do think that the support bar under the seat in Economy is very annoying and frustrating and it reminds me a lot of the Lufthansa B747-400 Economy seat which has a support bar all the way through the cabin as well as IFE boxes but that’s a much older aircraft and the new A350 of Emirates having that “feature” or let’s call it what it is, annoyance is very stupid! The food however looks great even for Economy I was surprised and it really does look like a great Economy experience overall I’d say, plus that window shade is cool! Emirates' first class is often considered the gold standard in the industry, and while dropping it could make sense if they were rolling out an exceptional Business class, that's not the case here. From what I've seen, the new Business class offers a 1-2-1 seating configuration, but beyond that, there's nothing particularly standout. In today's market, privacy is a key selling point for many Business class passengers, and it feels like Emirates missed an opportunity by not including suites with sliding doors or similar features to enhance privacy on the A350s.
I thought they moved the universal power port from the seat back to the bottom but No? Even united has them in every seat. Some phone chargers don't have USB cables
15:52, Same when I flew Zipair, Boeing 787-8 from Honolulu to Tokyo for the 1st time on flight number 1, flight is 90% full, flight is good and okay, 8 hours, the crew are nice, the seat and legroom is good and okay and the wifi is free for the whole flight, but it's slow, not outage in the middle of Pacific ocean, but it's because it's almost a full flight, so most passengers use the free wifi for the full flight, making it slow, but it's okay.
The Inaugural flight was already completed in December, and the celebration for their first aircraft had occurred with an invite only flight to dammam, and the media shots were taken on the unveiling ceremony, and I see you have lots of expectations, only because its a new aircraft, but the aircraft is made for shorter or medium haul flights just like the 777-200 and the 777-200LR and that is also the reason there is no First Class, since the aircraft is replacing their smaller aircraft which didnt feature first class. so its just their most standard version interior yet the most advanced. but Aircraft like the 777-300ER and The A380 are the ones that feature their full scale products, Yeah the A350 has new features but only the -1000 will be able to replace to feature the first class and the Ultra Long Haul interior

Emirates has 777-300ERs with no first class. There are minor/secondary routes that would rarely if ever have a first class customer, this is where the A350 will eventually go.

It can make sense to fly an A380 on a short flight. Firstly they don't have narrow bodies and secondly why leave 200 passengers on the ground when they can fly 500 on a 380?

15:52, Same when I flew Zipair, Boeing 787-8 from Honolulu to Tokyo for the 1st time on flight number 1, flight is 90% full, flight is good and okay, 8 hours, the crew are nice, the seat and legroom is good and okay and the wifi is free for the whole flight, but it's slow, not outage in the middle of Pacific ocean, but it's because it's almost a full flight, so most passengers use the free wifi for the full flight, making it slow, but it's okay.

The Inaugural flight was already completed in December, and the celebration for their first aircraft had occurred with an invite only flight to dammam, and the media shots were taken on the unveiling ceremony, and I see you have lots of expectations, only because its a new aircraft, but the aircraft is made for shorter or medium haul flights just like the 777-200 and the 777-200LR and that is also the reason there is no First Class, since the aircraft is replacing their smaller aircraft which didnt feature first class. so its just their most standard version interior yet the most advanced. but Aircraft like the 777-300ER and The A380 are the ones that feature their full scale products, Yeah the A350 has new features but only the -1000 will be able to replace to feature the first class and the Ultra Long Haul interior
legroom looks great , anythings better than their 777s. That thing where people who recline intrude on their own leg space is pure genius .
777 and a380 do have 2 class config as well. Not all destination have FC demand.

Are Emirates still getting the 787? think both the A350 and 787 are fantastic aircraft but what lets the A350 down in the cabin designee, the air vents and baggage bins look so old fashioned, when you compare it to the Boeing sky interior in the 787.

Emirates has 777-300ERs with no first class. There are minor/secondary routes that would rarely if ever have a first class customer, this is where the A350 will eventually go.

they probably would now that they have these planes. Vancouver isn't really a first class route as the market represents the income inequality there. It goes from business class to suddenly private jets.

It can make sense to fly an A380 on a short flight. Firstly they don't have narrow bodies and secondly why leave 200 passengers on the ground when they can fly 500 on a 380?
