Very good detail. One question, do you think all of the gear on the passenger side needed to be removed just to split the case? And does the clutch NEED to come to split the case?
Thanks for the question! No, I don't think the gears needed to be removed to split the case. For me using a Grizzly vs Viking lower end, I wasn't certain of the differences so wanted to inspect each component individually. Same goes for the clutch carrier assembly - from what I can recall this could have stayed attached and you ought to be able to separate the crankcase halves.
