Yes the stocking is outrageous my husband clearly told them we would no longer be going he told them we didn’t agree with some of the policies. It says if someone sins, 2 or 3 elders will try and help that person. It does not go into graphic detail about the judicial process which is illegal nor does the book mention the catastrophic impacts the disfellowshiped person will go through like shunning that person, extreme loneliness, losing their support networks and in many cases, committing suicide. When I was a pioneer I conducted many bible studies and never went into detail like I just have with you because we were taught to stick to the paragraph. OK so what do they teach you about 1914? Do they teach that it's a lie and there's no biblical proof that Jesus came invisibly and Satan was thrown down from heaven? 607 has been disproven by experts not 9 men sitting in an office who invented 607 to fit into their 1914 doctrine. I was a Jehovah’s Witness for 35yrs and I can tell you right now if I knew what I know now, not just the things mentioned here, but all the research I have done on different topics,I would never have had a bible study or got baptized. So all JW's were highly encouraged to sell up all their assets. Also pioneering was a requirement to bring as many new recruits in as possible before armageddon struck prior to 1975. When the new world did not come in 1975, many JW's were walking out in droves. To halt the exodus the GB introduced shunning in 1981 to include family members. Before then shunning was introduced in 1952, but family could still remain intact and could still talk to each other.
The watchtower implied (oh so strongly) the end would come in 75. Then one of the leaders gave a talk and said outright that 75 would be the end. The end didn’t come, and now the leaders of WT say they didn’t predict that but overzealous believers ran ahead and assumed it was the end, it was the followers that mistakenly believed and promoted the end. Others could state it with the actual evidence, but that’s a summary.
