Yes, the NASA Android is said to be modular, all of the joints identical, his arms and legs are the same parts, and swapable to left or right sides, the point of the android is to make him modular. If a left arm breaks or is lost, a right leg and right hand will fit to replace
The idea of Home Robots has been around since the 1980's. The software involved in making it happen is just too complex. Robot's just can not deal with real world situations in real time and perform decision making on the fly like a real person.
Robots aren't advanced enough to do this kind of recognition and response yet, so most of the responses from the astromech were planned out from the very start.
Watson was the program answering the questions, and answering questions is exactly what Watson was created to do. Yes, they definitely made sure it was loaded with Star Wars information for this, but it was still answering the questions.
The droid is garbage. They can't tell us that they made THAT with nothing but a pi and whatever else. It followed him specifically without any prompt, it recognized that the image of it is a reflection which would require some EXTREME learning to also be able to respond properly, it is somehow able to organize specific knowledge in a specific order to respond properly, and it took a picture without any prompt or knowledge of how to properly frame it.
@@andrewstrauss7586 It is fine if you ask small, super specific questions, but it was able to line up knowledge from all over the place in a specific order. Asking "What is 1 + 1" is easy, because it can recognize patterns in speech, but telling it to somehow know how to take down an AT-AT from rogue one? Where did it even find that knowledge?
As a fan, i'm really dissapointed that The Science and Star Wars series is not available in all countries. I don't know if it's a Disney's decision or if it's TH-cam's decision but i really hope this changes. Star Wars is supposed to be for everyone, it's a story that brings people together, and this channel, as the official youtube channel of Star Wars, should be an example of that .
Ok I NEED this in my life. Makes sure I get up on time in the morning, and someone fun to talk to when no one else is home. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 If only I had the time and money. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
are you gonna ever bring back the top 10 lists some ideas are Top ten planets Top ten ships Top ten saddest deaths Top ten cooling separatist droids Top ten lego sets Top ten best clone wars episodes Top ten coolest moments Top ten cutest droids Top ten charecters
Now we need to develop small nuclear reactors to power those things, Small Ion Thruster to make them fly and some other fun stuff then they are real astromech
I wonder, if every Star Wars fan purchased one or two toys and donated them between now and the 15th, how many toys would that be? #StarWarsToyChallenge2017
I know that some of the R2 Builders have actually made a T3 unit. I actually saw one at my local Comic Con a few years back, granted, it wasn't finished, but... Close enough.
Now that R3 has come to life, could it be possible to put him in a future anthology film?
Instablaster
Watson should become a protocol droid in Star Wars episode 9
Chris Atherton yes yes yes!!!!!
I know someone said this last week but the remixed Rogue One music is fantastic.

Nexo yeah sadly
I was looking for a comment of someone who actually realized this is just a way to promote ibm these things can’t do this yet.
iv read that it is possible...it is an advanced form of what siri does
Nexo Actually, this is Watson. He’s a super intelligent AI that learns how to respond and provide humans information extremely quickly.
Watson was the program answering the questions, and answering questions is exactly what Watson was created to do. Yes, they definitely made sure it was loaded with Star Wars information for this, but it was still answering the questions.
So happy you make me happy Star Wars makes me happy
This is what Ben kenobi has to say

I want an MSE-6 droid, that can vacuum as it scoots along, doo doo doodoo, doodle doodle doop!
The thing is, that droid was programmed to only do what was in this video. So it’s not that smart, it just looks like an astromech.
No. Remember, the R3 "AI" is Watson which is the same program that beat humans at jeapordy. Answering some Star Wars Trivia is basic stuff for it.
