Dude who spared Adolf, people forget that nobody knows the future. People hate him for it like he knew what the man he showed compassion for would do. Poor guy must beat himself up enough without others hating him for doing something a lot of humans would do in his place.
If he did it, a lot of people wouldn't exist too. WWII is what caused the baby boom cause soldiers came home and got busy with their significant other. So if he did it, you and I could possibly not exist among other major things that resulted from WWII.

Edit: I hope that what I read was a lie and he lived a peaceful, happy life. But people have done terrible things to others for no reason at all. Imagine people finding out that all of this could have been avoided. I have little to no faith that people would be rational about it. But god, regardless, that is heavy as hell to carry. Screw other people, you can be your own worse enemy. I've seen people spiral from less. :(
WWII had many reasons. It is impossible to know for sure, what could have happened without the presence of Hitler. It is possible, that WWII would have happened anyways, maybe different. We simply don't know. Hating this man for saving Hitlers life makes no sense at all. It is a desperate attempt to find someone to blame for the horrible things that happened during the reign of the Nazis. In our history class in germany we discussed the various reasons that lead to WWII very long and intensively for many month. In fact is is quite a long and complicated chain of socially and economically important events that began many years before Hitler became powerful. We even discussed a possible connection to the colonial policity at the end of the 19th century.
It is pure irony of fate, that this soldier was under the circumstances showing such unusual humanity to a man, that turned out to be so unbelievably inhumane that he became the symbol for evil, known in the whole world.

I knew a woman whom as a girl about 11, had a friend whose father was a cop. Naturally, he was VERY protective of his tween daughter because he saw first hand the kind of things that can happen to young girls. He had a lot of advice to give both of them, which they mostly blew off because they thought they knew better. But one thing that stuck with her is that if she was ever in a place where something felt wrong, that even if she couldn't tell what it was, to not worry about being rude and just get somewhere safe because unless you've got a paranoid personality disorder, nine times out of ten, your instinct is steering you in the right direction.

Dennis knew what he was doing, but as it goes, if someone does something once and gets away with it why wouldn't they continue? Especially with something like murder, you'd truly feel invincible if you did that and didn't get caught. Obviously he had some serious sickness within him that went un checked, at least in the end he was honest, he identified every boy/man he'd killed and he accepted the consequences. That's not evil to me, he's too aware. It's something worse than evil, when you do something like that just because you CAN.

Europe and in this case the UK doesn't have the death penalty. They abolished it about 50 years ago. I agree he needed to be executed but due to a couple of incidents of innocent people being executed, the UK decided it was not worth the risk if even one innocent person could be executed it was better to not have it at all.
What about then the getting confessions and giving closure to other families get by 9 out of 10 times only happens because they offer life in prison over death, otherwise unless the state or county doesn’t allow the death sentence no one would get away with just life killing 15 people
Life in prison is sorta worse than the death sentence, people on death row don’t usually get executed immediately, they get put on death row for years and years and get their own cell room with a tv and other accommodations

The 3rd story happened in England? There is no death penalty in England (or the entire UK perhaps). It was abolished a long time ago. A few attempts have been made to reintroduce Capital Punishment I think but these all failed at the Parliamentary level.
