Third story theory - He was taken out (IN) the trash... He was murdered in the bar, dismembered, and removed through the trash... Whether he remained in the dumpster at the bar until picked up, or removed before trash pick up depends on the situation... As anyone who has ever worked with food they know they throw away meat which will then rot within the dumpster over the week. covering up any possible smell of a body if left there... This would also explain why he wasn't seen on camera leaving the bar as no one would suspect him being carried out in the trash...
First story theory - he fell into a sinkhole. Theoretically if there was no foul play, or wild animal attack, he very well could have fallen into it a sink hole which can be easily missed, especially if plant growth covers it... This would explain no sign of him, including the phone which wouldn't have a signal or be able to receive a signal once underground, including the abrupt "oh s***!" before being cut off from his father... That or hills have eyes....
I watched a video on a channel called Bad Things: True Crime, they have a series called What Most Likely Happened. They had an interesting theory, it boiled down to him falling down an embankment which knocked him out, getting run over by some farming equipment. They based this on the area he was in, it being harvesting time, time farmers got up during this time. Its been a while since I saw the episode & they explained it a hella lot better than me. Hell it seems as plausible as any other Ive heard. My issue with that is wouldn't they know they ran over someone plus knowing it was an accident & that no one expects some random person laying down in their field why wouldn't they call the cops. Personally I like your sink hole explanation better.
The last one either he found a large pipe/vent in the bar and got stuck and died Or he switched clothes with someone in the bar and walked out and started a new life
My guess is, Brandon was hit by a car, which resulted in his death, but it didn’t leave any lacerations on his body, since there’s no blood anywhere. The passengers in that car didn’t want to get in trouble, so they took his body, found his phone, took that as well, and after that, who knows.
Second story theory - some form of schizophrenia mixed with drugs... We have seen many similar accounts in Mr Ballen's videos and it would make the most sense.
A lot of people think Brian Shaffer is still alive, they don't realize how hard it is just to disappear without leaving footprints. What I find so sad about his story is several years after he disappeared his father died when a huge branch fell on him as he was cleaning up debris after a bad storm. So the mom died of cancer, Brian disappears, the father dies in an accident leaving Brians younger brother the only one left in the family. So heartbreaking, I cant imagine how he must feel.

A mom and daughter slip into this overlapping dimension where the mom ventures through a series of scary purges in order to find her daughter bc she had gone missing in there. Throughout the film, it shows her husband (in our world) searching silent hill (a town) and he can feel this subtle attractive force but he can't tell what it is. It's the wife on the other side, they cannot see each other but he somehow "feels" something weird. Anyways, after mom finds daughter they go back home but nothing is there. They're trapped in that separate dimension. It's crazy. Quantum mechanics theorize that it's possible that your entire self be teleported somewhere else in this universe. There isn't an indication that you might slip into another universe, but it's still uncertain. We actually still don't know if this many-worlds theory (aka multiverse theory) is even accurate.
Ronald was a leftover patient from the asylum. The first one he could have been hit by a car then the driver panicked and carried him somewhere and dumped him out.
