    Having 2 giant choils, but still not getting the plunge grind right is always hilarious to me.

      Riight? How does that even happen? It would be one thing if these knives weren't that expensive.

      They have there appeal but when they cost more than a Chris reeve it’s kinda silly.

    That rounded tip is a pretty common thing from the Strider factory. The last SNG I got directly from them had it as well.

      I can see it being a bit annoying, but the tanto, fake out grind, is what would upset me. It's like the belly was just placed flat against the grinder. You can really see it in the opening shots.

    Jef really good video. Most knife companies seem not to be able to get the sharpening choil right for whatever reason and it’s definitely annoying. I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into making these videos brother and I hope you and your family are doing well 👊🏼

      Thanks for checking it out 🙏
      Yea I’ve just about given up on knives makers getting the choil correct, but i gotta call em out on it. If enough customers realize there is an issue, and voice concern, maybe someone, somewhere, will listen 😁

      Thank you 🙏 I make mistakes all the time, but like guitar playing, if you play through, they tend to be unnoticed :D

    Striders are always bucket loads of fun to correct lol! I've seen very few come from the factory with a decently done edge.

    I have five Striders. Four of them had exact grinds like that. The fifth one probably would have looked like that too but it’s the .75 AR. Once the edges are cleaned up, they are great. Plus I don’t mind since I hand sharpen anyways.

    • @Jef
      @Jef  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right on. I guess it’s just the way they do things if you have that many examples.

      @@Jef Ya… I really don’t get it either for that price point. I think it was Apostle P that said, Strider guys are like Jeep guys. Like, we know they aren’t the “best.” Sure, they could be considered overpriced. But hey, we like them. Though I will say with the ever increasing price, I have not bought any new pieces in a while. They were expensive back when they were cheaper.

    • @Jef
      @Jef  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      lol Rob nailed it. I’m with ya one the purchase halt. I have only grabbed a handful of knives, in the last 3-4 years. China quality, hasn’t changed any U.S. manufacturing habits, so i doubt anything will. Even some of thier knives, are starting at an absurd amount.

    nice video Jef. How would you say that 240 compares to the 320 sp. I've still never tried the gritomatics but that thing honestly looks like it could be finer than the shapton from the videos.

    • @Jef
      @Jef  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its faster than shapton 320. I would put it up against the sp 120. I had a burr on some of this edge after the first few strokes.

    Glad I never got the strider bug. The double choir makes no sense to me. What steel is this knife?

      Should be on the video description but i forgot to mention it while recording. It’s just 20cv

      The behind the edge thickness was surprisingly good. However, that stock, is a thick one.

      I’ve held a few knives that it didn’t bother me so much. Still, i agree. Make use of the real estate available
