Wow. Thanks. Great video and easy to follow. Tested by forgetting this network on my iPhone, then scanning QR Code from iPad. Worked first time out of the box. Grandkids coming next week. It will save me having to set each one up.
Awesome! Scrubbed through a couple forums and was worried this was going to be a huge headache (especially since I'm on a large UniFi network with many WAPs) and this worked first try! Thanks!!
Stephen, you do speak very clearly and it’s a well done video. However, this process is seriously complicated and difficult to accomplish with out having access to all the info you’re mentioning. My wife’s Samsung automatically generates a QR code with any wifi she is attached to. When will Apple add the feature to automate the 10 minute instructions you are sharing?
A Great video. I tried a couple different so called free QR Generators, spent a lot of time and effort with no results. After watching this great video, I just copied the shortcut as you suggested and "Bingo" ....... 1 minute later I had a QR code to print. Printed it and it worked perfectly the first time. Amazing!!! Thank You.
Amazing thank you so much this was really helpful love the way you make the steps so easy to follow amazing. Please don't stop sharing this good and easy to follow giddies.
First off thanks for making this video. I can’t began to tell you when my teenage grandchildren come over I have to repeat the connection to wi-fi. But I have a question of course I rested the Qcode to see if it works and it does but it doesn’t work with older Apple products. Like 2nd generation iPad mini. So why is that ??
This is a very old shortcut. You can add a text field (and put the password there) and use it as a value for the password so you don’t have to put the password every time and create the QR automatically.
With vision problems I listened very carefully and it did not work. You were very careful throughout but failed to mention the two semi colons at the end which it appears, are critical. If you ever update this, add an verbal comment on their addition. Many thanks.
@@StephenRobles didn’t work on my iPad. I get a security warning. In the movie you promised to put the code in the description. I already typed it myself, works great.
Dont know hat i am doing wrong, but when i scan it i just get 3 lines. 1 the code. 2. Copy text. 3. Open by other. 3 contains everything but the machine i am using!
Did not work for me. When I scan the QR code with my camera it comes up with “No Useable Data”. I entered my password manually and it works so it’s correct. Tried making a QR code with this shortcut a few times and it never worked. Apparently there is something in my home WiFi set up it does not like.
Unfortunately it can't be used with voice activation, since Siri will ask for the password in the voice form instead of text. Hey, Apple, how about allowing to use the wifi password as a parameter?
This is really useful, but when I tried it, my phone didn’t connect to WiFi and I’m not sure why. I just got a failed message and then it came up in my known networks, but then said the password was wrong. But when I pasted the password in (still on the clipboard), it worked. I also tried the WEP option, but that didn’t work at all. Any ideas?
Are you in a business environment or is this at home? You can DM me on twitter with screenshots of the shortcut and I can see what may have gone wrong: @stephenrobles
it kinda is like that thanks to the link in the description of the video to download the shortcut and generate it with one click. i guess maybe thats 2 clicks?
This is a great tip, will save lots of agony! Two questions came to mind. I noticed when you were describing the text string that you mentioned a way to specify WPA or WEP, but not WPA2 (nor WPA3), which is commonly used. Is it as easy as just typing WPA2 instead of WPA? Question 2: You did not mention which devices can use the QR code. Does the QR code work with Android devices, or only Apple devices? The issue here is NOT can Android devices read QR codes. I know they can. The question is will Android be able to use the info in the QR code to accurately setup the network connection, just as it works for Apple devices. Thanks
I can’t answer the first question, but the QR code will work with any device that can scan them There are some android devices that can’t scan QR codes for some reason, but those are usually the older ones
How do i get this to automatically create the QR Code without me entering the password the WIFI network im currently connected to? I downloaded the shortcut but it asks to provide the password still. EDIT: I figured it out! For those who have this same question do it as follows: 1) Get Wifi Network's Network Name 2) Enter the WIFI:S:Network Details;T:WPA(CHECK which Security encryption your wifi is under); P:(Enter the correct password here);; 3) Generate QR Code from Text 4) Show QR Code in Quick Look boom and done watch 4:22 - 6:45 for instructions in relation to what I stated.
Excellent Tutorial. Good and clear voice. Precise and concise instructions. Professional videography.
This is really really useful! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, now I have three shortcuts to use for my WiFi networks.
This is clutch! Thanks for the upload.
Check out www.qrcode-monkey.com/#wifi it's infinitely better!
This video was very helpful.
Mind blown 🤯 Thank you so much this very useful 😁
Great video Stephen!!
could you possibly make a tutorial for generating a QR code that shares your contact info? Essentially a digital business card
Will this QR code work for visitors that have an Android device?
Thanks for this info, very helpful!
i actually did this for my house, so useful!
Great job! More videos from Stephen please.
Great Job!! on explaining how to create a QR code
Who down voted this??!? This is so useful!
Very useful info. Please more shortcuts tips.
Very useful. I’ll be doing this soon

Worked great… thank you !!
Do you video about how to share your password just tapping phone via nfc tag
First off thanks for making this video. I can’t began to tell you when my teenage grandchildren come over I have to repeat the connection to wi-fi. It might be an iOS thing, I know QR code scanning with the camera came in a software update, 2nd Gen iPad mini might be a hair to old.
THANK YOU!!! :)
Great Thanks I hope you have more I can Download I tried this one and there seemed to be now spam or anything - I will follow you from now on
How to do this exact same thing but to connect to a hidden network please reply with a video
how about sharing the current wifi you are connected via qr but not typing the password
tested this is on iphone and android, worked wonderfully
Literally every single person should use QRCodeMonkey over this. It's better on literally every aspect
is there anyway to use this URL scheme in combination with an NFC tag to connect iPhone users to a guest network?
Brilliant!
Great tutorial but damn Apple, why you didn’t just put a QR code when you click on your network, like Android? Probably will come with IOS 25 😭
Great video my friend! This is a valuable tip to share with others.
Would you consider doing a tutorial for iPad Pro?
You can check out the iPad Pro video I just did! th-cam.com/video/vXfRrNZHtXU/w-d-xo.html
even if it the router password has changed? it might still work?
Damn you are good. Appreciate it bro. You really made it easy for me. Stay safe and remain blessed.
What do you do if you don’t know what the security protocol is?
I can't find the text in the description
Brilliant. Thank you.
Awesome Video!
How to make it work without asking to type for a password everytime?
Ideally it would be nice to recognize and fill out the password automaticaly
For security reasons the device can’t pull from your passwords / keychain to get it automatically. And it’s not visible from the network info details.
This is a very old shortcut. You can add a text field (and put the password there) and use it as a value for the password so you don’t have to put the password every time and create the QR automatically.
@@camiloparrasalazar9157 how do i do this?

bro what?? did you think he added them for fun? does he have to really specify that he added ;; for a reason
Very handy, pitty you didn’t put the code in the description.
You can download it from the link after the “Download this Shortcut:” text.

Hi Steven.
Thanks much for these useful tips. A pity Apple doesn't have that wifi QR code generation functionality embedded in IOS :-)
Like samsung does

How to make QR code for username and password with tab in between ?
None of the opposition worked for me
Downloaded the URL text
And nothing
Unfortunately it can't be used with voice activation, since Siri will ask for the password in the voice form instead of text. Hey, Apple, how about allowing to use the wifi password as a parameter?
Android phone scan the qr code’ not working’ only see the programmed input words 😅😅
I actually did it but when I scanned the QR Code with my other iphone it keeps showing unable to connect to the wifi. What should i do pls
fabuloous
Thank you 😊
Thank you
Brilliant!!
Who is this guy?!?

It would be simpler, if they just allow to generate QR code from the currently connected network. One click.
it kinda is like that thanks to the link in the description of the video to download the shortcut and generate it with one click. i guess maybe thats 2 clicks?
Is there a way got get automatically the QR code whit out having to type the password??
Unfortunately not, you can’t pull the password from network info for security reasons.

Use WPA for 2 or 3 as well, and it works on both android and iPhone / iPad
For the second question, the answer is still yes.
"So 👏🏻 many 👏🏻 steps👏🏻!!!"
-An Android user.
How do i get this to automatically create the QR Code without me entering the password the WIFI network im currently connected to? I downloaded the shortcut but it asks to provide the password still.
EDIT: I figured it out! For those who have this same question do it as follows:
1) Get Wifi Network's Network Name
2) Enter the WIFI:S:Network Details;T:WPA(CHECK which Security encryption your wifi is under); P:(Enter the correct password here);;
3) Generate QR Code from Text
4) Show QR Code in Quick Look
boom and done watch 4:22 - 6:45 for instructions in relation to what I stated.
...or use an Android phone and have all of this functionality already part of your OS
Great!
The link does not work…
Has anyone got this to work on WPA3?
Who in the world would still be using WEP?
Thanks for lieing. The text is nowhere to be found. Just a download link…
Now do a video using an iphone because it was impossible for me to follow along on my iphone, since I do not have a fuckin ipad.
WOW!
I regret buying an iPhone so much.
And your wifi password is: 502emain
Thanks for sharing
hi
WIFI:S:NETWORK;T:WPA;P:PASSWORD;;
If you go to QIFI.org, that website will do this for you without creating a shortcut!
But, having the shortcut pre-written for download above is handy too!
My samsung can do this automatically it looks hard on apple 🍎😐
Me about to find his IP: hehehheheheheh HeHEHe HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHEHEHE HE he ch *coughing*
