  • Stan Wawrinka Forehand Slow Motion HD
Stan Wawrinka Forehand Technique does not always get much credit as he is known for having the best one handed backhand on the ATP Tour. However Wawrinka's Forehands possess incredible power and spin and he wins many cheap points from that side. Wawrinka Forehand Grip is Semi-western allowing him great tennis forehand power and tennis forehand topspin.
Can Wawrinka win a Grand Slam in 2020?

When i find this dwing It feels like a cock back and fire. The racket is lined up back not far behind the ball. There is no lengthy swing to get through before the ball is struck. If you are explosive and whippy with tendons enough it is no struggle to give great speed to the ball. I think it suits me.

I agree that it is a very simple swing, but I think that the racket is "lined up" fairly far behind the ball. I think the issue is the angles. Look at 6:23 and how far back he is reaching, and how deep his shoulder and hip rotation is. then look at 0:02 and how it doesn't look like his racket is as far back. but if you study it closely, you will realize that these two strokes are almost the same, the only difference is our view of it. From one angle, you can't see the length of the swing, and then from the other angle, you can see that it is not a short length.
      -
to be clear, I completely agree it is "cock back and fire". especially compared to other top professionals who have a more circular racket swing path compared to wawrinka's much more linear swing path. but wawrinka cocks it back as much as he can before firing. it isn't a short swing.

The grip requires you to be whippy and snappy in order for this grip to work, I drive a western grip with alot with high revolutions and am not short of hitting winners due to having the additional angles to hit into where with the Eastern forehand maybe more difficult
