I would play ff14 with Jessy's mom, we are probably about the same age. I could show her the ropes, been playing since late 2013. I think we would have great fun together
My mom and I are very connected, and I shared the Hydaelyn cutscene because it's basically what she always tells me (to walk in the light) starting at the last min where the dialogue starts. She watched that part then watched the whole thing and I believe finally she is satisfied with a game that I play
tbh "barber" was creepily on point if you consider that medieval barbers aside from shaving applied leeches, did bloodletting for healing and did surgeries
That was pretty wholesome, other than the objectification of bunny boys, but that's par for the course here. I dig the boomer's perspective on it. I could totally see the mom going through the early game and having a blast with it. Though she'd probably unlock glamour and we'd never hear from her again. "Dear, come out of there for a few minutes please. I made dinner." "Shut up! I'm playing dress up with Thandor!"
@@zachbrown7574 he said any name with an f would've been fine, they wanted FF, but also said those days felt like the end times so I don't think the myth is reaching too far.
You know, his dad is right - why is Fourchenaut (sp?) wearing a plain black tie while wearing the rest of that stuff? It's like this big over-the-top outfit, but then there is a tie.
btw the urban legend that final fantasy was the last attempt at keeping square enix afloat is just that: an urban legend. the japanese have a habit of calling games by their initials: FF, PSO, DQ, etc... and they needed a game that had the initials "FF" for marketing purposes so they just came up with final fantasy
i was twitching a bit when he said that. its one of those stories that gets retold so often it just becomes accepted. they wanted fighting fantasy, but a series of choose your own adventure type books already had the copyright on them.
I can’t believe that myth about the original Final Fantasy made it into a Square-Enix partnered video. But it is more romantic than the truth that they just wanted something easy to pronounce in both English and Japanese and easily abbreviated.
@@gysahlfields7506 That is correct, but that is not why it is named the way it is. They later explained that they wanted something that they could market in the west and was easy to say in both Japanese and English and specifically be abbreviated to “FF.” The whole last game thing is just a myth that has become more popular than the truth.

Its the last alright. The last time I will ever play it. With all the problems with wow at the moment, I get it that it needs work. This was just.... boring.... didn't have that MMO spark wow once had. Also got to level 40 and still struggled to make any friends on there (very weird for a somewhat "sociable game"). Don't have this issue with wow =/
I struggle to make friends in FF too but I found an FC where people are kinda nice and try to include me. And someone added me because I hung out with them in a city and showed off outfits and another because they asked for help in shout chat and I tried to help. I think a lot of people have been playing a long time so probably have friend groups and others are also new and might be shy. And some just wanna do their own thing. I recomend talking to the NPCs at different parts of the story, they're pretty fun. And I run around with my chocobo so I'm not as lonely. I was curious what the ad was about, they start talking about Final Fantasy and I'm like, this sounds like a great ad. Then they mention Final Fantasy XIV endwalker and I start to cringe so hard. "Dangerous Person of Substance" is how DPS will be referred to from now on.

I never noticed Alphidad had a goddamn tie on until Jesse's dad laughed at it and OH MY GOD IT *DOES* LOOK RIDICULOUS.
Like he put on what is basically a turtleneck and thought "nah, not formal enough, maybe if I just hang a slightly loose tie around my neck"
A lot of characters in FFXIV are wearing ties, IMHO it's that Isekai'd salaryman story trope creeping into the game.
@@Cyromantik Yeah, but he's wearing a tie OVER his collar

So wholesome, Jessy has very cool parents, love how constructive opinions they gave over the game.
I love Jesse's mom, she could start a streaming career, and Jesse's dad would be the best second commentary on a stream.
I would so watch a stream of Jessie's mom
Dangerous Person of Substance makes more sense than damage per second,
"Im a Dangerous Person of Substance"
vs
"Im a Damage per Second"
The Cox family is a damn national treasure.

Look into the origin of the barber shop pole.
In conclusion: Jesse's mom needs to play and we need to see it. XD
His dad's Frankenstein Joe tshirt, that is a really old callback 😆

Wow I never noticed the tie, but yea now that I see it, it does look kinda weird without the collar to cover it.
It seems Square Enix has embraced the React Meta.

how did I never notice the tie!
Very wholesome and quick witted couple for a first time look. 👏

Someone tell Asmon to get Jesse's mom on Allcraft right now!
male viera in their smallclothes IS TOO MUCH CLOTHES
