This is the type of video I love the most! And... Disappointment. Dear friend, I was expecting a additional spotting scope with a camera and a triggercam plus! What a pity... 😔 In Australia, the air is the same, but the terrain is different. Mark and Sam always shoot on farmlands - flat, cultivated, dry, dusty... No bushes, no rocks, no rocks... At worst wheat stubble.
Just FYI Piet, if you are referring to Mark and Sam with the "Australians" comment, they are using mild steel, (I believe its only like 1/4" thick also) not AR500 for the long range shots, so there is more deformation of the plate and more paint falls off with hits at distance. This allows them to more easily spot impacts. Because they are using mobile target stands, they just take the plate home and hammer the dent flat after the shoot. They have an old video talking about this. They are also generally shooting from an elevated position in relation to the target which allows them to get out of the ground mirage and see the target better. Not sure if you guys have access to the new caldwell hit indicators over there but I've tested mine extensively and they are an awesome peice of kit for $30 and work even better than my $200 Magnetospeed hit indicator.
A landing pad for the drone is a need for sure!.. maybe one with a steel plate to block shots for the 1/1,000,000? The plate may interfere with signal to take off tho? That Raptor would sure be handy to drop off some gravel and steel for the landing pad 😅😂 Excellent content as always! I’ll be getting a shirt to wear up here in ND, USA!
What/whose dies does Skaulk (apologies if I spelled that wrong) use for his 300 Norma Improved? It seems like every die set made in that caliber must be custom made and/or unbelievably expensive.
What's so special about 30 Sherman Magnum? Is this just a special round available in South Africa? I've never even seen a rifle chambered in this and was curious, WHY?
@@IMPACTSHOOTING I wasn't doubting it, just a crazy amount of bullet drop. Bullet trajectory must look like an extremely fast throwing spear, or a football.
Practicing reading wind and making calls is my favorite thing at the moment. Wish I could find a spot for this kind of distance. Currently working at 1200 yards.
Get yourself the Nikon P1000 which have a 125x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR ED Glass Lens. You can see the craters on the moon, guess you’ll be able to see some impacts on a freshly painted target at 2Km. FYI, I think MarkandSam from Aus also use the P1000 to spot their impacts.
Nice work you two! I'm just now getting back into long range shooting after not competing for several years. This makes me want to get out for some trigger therapy, but it's currently freezing here so I'll just keep loading ammo and wait for better weather. 😁
Awesome stuff. But how could you go without a fresh drone battery and a fresh painted target? 😂 Typically, luck favors the prepared. Good thing you got skill. 🎉
Correct, only additional mark on the target is the one top edge just off centre so only one hit...who, I do not know...need to redo this exercise. @@samhopkins6356 🙃
Learn Long Range Here - impactshooting.teachable.com/p/long-range
Checkout Mark & Sam after work. They shoot various ranges from 1000m out to 5000m metres. Very impressive.

Yes flash bang lights are very helpful, doesn't really matter where the hits are on target at those distances imo.

Impressively done! Great work gentlemen! 🤙
Interesting to be calling changes in wind every few seconds. This is how dynamic the wind really is. A learning experience. Good job!
Nice job to both of you
Congrats!
What velocity is he getting out of the Norma improved?
why did you choose MDT and not Foundation Stocks
Fantastic, maybe spray the gong next time.

Nice 2k Piet!
What size is the gong your shooting at? And is the 30 Sherman mag the same as a 30 nosler? Cheers
What is the specs on the spotting scope please Piet?
Excellent !
Yes Sir good job !!!!!!!!!
Anyone know who makes that front “bipod” they’re using?
Thanks!
They look like Phoenix
Well he says it like 1 min into the video
47 meter drop ? LOL That's more than 150 feet. (6:25 )
Have you checked the math?
@@IMPACTSHOOTING I wasn't doubting it, just a crazy amount of bullet drop. Bullet trajectory must look like an extremely fast throwing spear, or a football.
@@IMPACTSHOOTING @ 2900 FPS vortex ballistics puts it at 74 Meter drop. That's wild. Awesome shooting.
@@henryg2960 jup its insane right!
👌👌👌
No evidence of impact.
come out and help us film next time!
Dude... Im sorry but watching someone shoot with no trigger or target camera is worse than watching paint dry. I am really disappointed.
Then you should click off, wasnt planning to make this video that day
Very nice Piet can you please make a video of your .303

FYI Mark and Sam use a much thinner target and I think it’s even just mild steel so when it hits the plate deforms and it knocks way more paint off
Just short of 2200 yards fo us Americans.

Thanks, problem is mirage. Best glass in the world struggle with that
Is aerodynamic jump die selle as die Magnus Effect?
What suppressors are you guys using? Looking for a good one for my 300prc
Great video,do you enjoy your watch? Suunto?
Love the long range stuff. I shot the mile last year and will be shooting 2000 yards this year!
That's VERY impressive
How much elevation 30 Sherman Magnum needed?

What magnification were you on?
Congratulations! What an accomplishment.
You need the longshot lr-3 camera system
Call that done and dusted! Fantastic job!
Hit more than once. Great work! Need more of this content.
Congrats!!
Piet ons soek n review van 7mm prc asb
Thank you.
Well done 😎
Crazy how much goes into 2km. Hows the military snipers hitting people another 1km out
Luck, they will be the first to tell you that too. So many variables out of our control past a mile it becomes very unpredictable

4:06 seconds I counted 11 hits on the target, the end only has 12 hits
