If you hear your car sputtering, backfiring, jerking during hard acceleration or a strong smell of gas coming from the exhaust. Your coils have gone bad. The backfiring (loud pop noises) when accelerating is caused by unburned fuel entering your exhaust then igniting this also causes the strong smell of fuel. If its the fuel pump, your car will be less responsive when you press the gas pedal as in your car feels like its crawling up a hill instead of smoothly going up it at any speed.
Thats the exact same issues I'm having on m bmw 3 series coupe, + the car shakes quite a bit. Do you think that maybe if I replace the coils the issues will also go away?
@@rome_055 If the car shakes back and forward, bad fuel pump. Side to side when driving, Alignment, Unbalanced tires, or something along where the cars tires meet the chassis is loose; in that case shake test it. Backfiring and sputtering when hard accelerating more than likely will be fouled spark plugs or bad plugs. *My recommendation would be pull the spark plugs out, if they’re covered in black soot, Coils are on their way out (Thats unburnt fuel, cuz the coils are failing to emit enough electricity). If not, coils are fine.
My cars been having a weird issue where randomly when driving my car will start to feel sluggish and even when I press the gas all the way it will only go up to about 4,000 rpm’s and I’ll get a strong smell of gas. I changed out my fuel filter, fuel pump, and fuel injectors. I thought the issue went away but it happens again today. Do you think it’s my coil pack?
@@optedlol5680 Check the spark plugs and if you see black soot. Change them and the coils altogether. If the problem persists, you may need to bring it to a mechanic so they can properly diagnose your issue.

Coils should last for a long long time. With that being said, my coils lasted in my 2002 Rav4 till 275 ,000 km and then I started to get engine hesitation problems, periodic stalling, and engine misfires. Coils this old will also have fine hairline cracks in the shaft end. The pin end will test OK but the plug end will get no readings on the multi-meter. Also, the engine light started to flash erratically and behaved like the engine was going to all of a sudden quit. I replaced all the coils, the EGR, and the MAF for about $120 in total and problems was gone. I don't maintain my Rav4 very well either but it does get me from A to B all the time with zero problems whatsoever. Drove the Rav4 for 6 years straight with the only problem being a front burnt out running light.

Could a bad coil be the reason for my engine light and awd to turn on my 2015 Toyota Rav4? Also I keep having to put oil in my car, it's a mystery! What is happening. In all my 64 years I've never had to keep adding quarts of oil. Thank you for an informative video that this older woman can understand.
If your 2015 Toyota RAV4's engine and AWD lights are on, it's possible that a faulty coil could trigger the engine light, but the AWD light usually indicates a separate issue related to the all-wheel drive system. For an accurate diagnosis, use an OBD2 scanner to read the error codes in your vehicle. This can lead you in the right direction as there can be multiple issues associated with the engine light. The frequent need to add oil might indicate internal oil consumption due to engine wear or external oil leaks. This video provides an in-depth explanation of internal oil consumption and its causes. th-cam.com/video/aW9DzhQiPxQ/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=EasyAutoFix
The resistance on each of my coil packs is 1.3 ohms and everyone might want to check theirs! Also i determined that i had a bad connection to one of the coil packs. Now it is acting up again so maybe it wasn't a bad connection after all or maybe one of my coil packs is acting up when it gets real hot!

Hello, I'm a Nissan Tiida owner, and I'm encountering acceleration issues. I've replaced the spark plugs, air filters, transmission fluid, engine fluid, and the Fuel Assembly, but the problem persists. I haven't diagnosed the ignition coil yet, so I'm wondering if one of the coils might be faulty. For example, when I was in traffic with my foot on the brake, and I released the brake and pressed the gas, the car surged for a second and then settled. I noticed this tends to occur when the vehicle is cold. It mostly happens at low speeds. What could be causing this issue?

Also check the spark plugs and replace if you have not before (about 60k miles or so).
Did you found the problem? I have similar issues.
Does ignition coil cause engine light to come on?
Watch the video? It clearly tells you the answer.
Yes and misfire
I changed the spark plugs aswell and still is shaking
My husband replaced one coil 09 Honda fit I still feel the car shaking.
It could be engine mounting
The main reasons behind feeling the car shaking are:
Broken spark plug
Broken ignition coil
Engine mount
Timing belt
Engine mount
