As usual your wood and color choices are spot on. Loved the extra flourish at the top. I love the piece but was more intrigued by the new filming technique you employed. The angles and closeups somehow made the turning process feel like I was there watching you work. It really felt a more immersive experience. I enjoyed it a lot! When I saw the color of the wood then the resin I knew it was going to be gorgeous! Seeing the finished piece didn't disappoint! Never does!

Of course, by now, we all know that everything you touch turns out absolutely beautiful! But I do have a question. When you are turning the wood, is it really hard to hold your hand in place? It seems like you put light pressure, but it takes a lot to keep yourself steady. I am just growing more and more fascinated by this process so I thought I would ask! Wonderfully done thank you for sharing!

the left hand must be firm and flexible at the same time because depending on the grain and the gouge used to create a shape, it can slip and be dangerous.. the right hand must hold the gouge with the correct angles and pressure. . both hands must work together to achieve good results and stay safe😉
That is a lovely piece! I really like the colour and grain of the wood. At the beginning I thought it was going to be a lamp base but you turned it into a pretty vase. ❤❤ Have you ever thought of doing a lamp using the burnt grain technique? I think that would be unique and interesting. Sorry, your creativity gets my own imagination going.😄

Indeed at the beginning I thought maybe to make a lamp base with these pieces of wood and then I changed my lens along the way because the grain had a pretty golden reflection and I thought that with a pretty bouquet of flowers dry that would be great💖🌼

If I may ask: I presume you quartered the same piece of hardwood & orientated it back in the exact alignment for turning but I am curious did you offset (remove) the depth between the quartered pieces to match the width of the epoxy - this would give a better visual grain alignment, or would it?

So beautiful! I’m interested in the bonding between the resin and the wood. Are they perfect together regarding resin molecules and the wood fibres do that they don’t split apart. Is it a problem with hard woods and resin? Fascinating 🤔
Thanks wolfy😉there are a lot of things to say about epoxy resin.. the process is complex and many criteria have to be taken into account to achieve a perfect grip on the wood. I will soon make a viseo in which I will explain some procedures

I don't consider necessary the use of epoxy resin, having this beautiful wood in your hands. The natural grain is more than enough to create something beautiful.

it is not by necessity that I put resin, but to create a collage effect between the pieces of wood 😉
The wood is too beautiful to have the too-brightly-colored epoxy stripes added. I like the shape of the vase very much, but would prefer it without the epoxy.
