For people who like learning from examples of mistakes, there's a book called "Error Analysis of 900 Sample Sentences" which is 900 examples of wrong sentences with corrected versions and an explanation of the correction (usually just one sentence) in both Chinese and English.

I feel your English is becoming increasingly fluent and accurate! And don’t worry about “auxiliary”. It’s pronounced differently depending on where you come from anyway. LoL
This is the most important function of Chinese grammar that I have not been able to make sense of. THANK YOU!!!! Chinese sentences suddenly make so much more sense 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

I watch your videos once in a while and every time I do I feel I learned so much from you. As both a language tutor and Mandarim learner I think you have a great and unique way to teach. Thank you!
I have a very extensive Chinese vocabulary from studying just to prepare for exams. But, your videos help me to actually sound like a native speaker!! Thank you for being my quarantine professor!
I’ve been learning Japanese for the past 5 months or so consistently and it has made me more interested in other languages, Chinese in particular. Thank you for the video! :)
Such a clear way to present this concept. I've been studying mandarin for a while but I feel like this video (and others) are really healping unlock my fluency. This video is pure gold! Thank you so much
Now thats a real teacher for you showing thats its nothing wrong with making mistakes noticed when she messed up on auxillary she looked up how to say it right then & there & eventually said it! versus just saying I'll use another word we should have the same attitude with studying mandarin don't fret over a mistake keep moving forward & every thing will come together in time❤
If your subject is about "The Ball'" then your sentence describes a predicate Example' Subject (The Ball) + ( predicate) rolled down the hill. So in Chinese short example: 他书写 (tā shūxiě): "他" is the subject and "书写" the predicate.
I prefer the Tåhála system of helpers, where you just slap adjectives, adverbs, and markers onto the end of all your words until where one starts and the other begins is completely ambiguous. $question$ (I)(you){future} [move]{place}%expect object tone% [location]{attach grouping}!(I) [obtain]{money}{attach grouping}!(I) [do]{food}%expect object tone% (food)! or, as English speakers would say: “Do you want to go out to eat at a restaurant with me?”
i loved her reaction in the part where she couldn't pronounce auxiliary properly and had to check the correct pronunciation, it was so funny. i loved the way she teaches too; you've gotten a new subscriber.
Clear as mud. Wouldn't know how to use the yidianr after pianyi, you said that it was a result, so I understood that, but would probably use the yidianr before the pianyi. I've studied Mandarin for a long time now yet would not think to put the 'man to his parents speak' before Fangshi, but I do understand it. Being a Waiguoren, it takes a lot of effort to think like the Chinese. Thank you for your efforts anyway.
I really enjoyed your video! I really like how you portray the Chinese structure as something that makes a lot of sense. That is something that is missing in my Chinese language textbooks. This is the first video that I see from you. I feel very encouraged to watch all of your other ones. If you can (or someone else), please tell me how the following two sentences (taken from a popular Chinese language textbook) would fit with the SVO model that you explained: (1) 王朋要开车接李友一起去。(2)她六点半在楼下等王朋。

A subject is the noun or pronoun-based part of a sentence, and a predicate is the verb-based part that the subject performs. with that being said, an object is also part of the predicate.
That you for shedding some light on this. Chinese is a stuggle for me because I expect the discriptive information to come after, not before. If you change the order to "She doesnt like the way the man to his parents speak", it instantly becomes more understandable for me. Now that I see the pattern, I just have to remember that helpers may come before a particular word and not after.
The End and Chi sentence structures will of course be different. Sometimes, it is very diff. Sometimes, it is only a bit of diff. The best way to learn is to read story books. And that is how I learn Eng. By reading a lot of Enid Blyton stories about fairy and pixie and elfs. And then the structure will get into your brain.
