The unions on the 100DVFUU are on the valve, so it makes maintenance on the valves in a manifold a breeze especially if a valve needs to be removed and replaced.
This video is very helpful! I didn't even know about winterizing the water drainage system.

Haven't really had a problem with dressers. As long as their isn't too much pressure, and the dresser is tight enough.
Could this be applicable to irrigate rice plant?
A couple of things. Instead of using a dresser tee to tie into the main line, I would use a PVC slip tee SXSXS and a quick fix coupling. That way I'm getting glue joints on all the connections where I cut into the main line. I've seen water pressure drive off a dresser tee as shown in the video, especially if the pipe can move at all or you are dealing with high water pressures. Rain Bird also sells a great union valve for manifolds (RB 100DVFUU), I'm surprised they weren't used in this video.

take those extra 3 inches and install unions. you should install a seperate service box, with a backcheck, shutoff and hose bib. I only use clear products now but I like the way your guys clean pipes. its a very old video but thats my input.

@iScaper1 I agree, those dresser fittings scare the hell out of me. Around me we are lucky enough to not have that many PVC mainlines, most are copper. In this case I would solder a fitting and it would NEVER fail. I've never used those the 100DVFUU but I do like manifolds and unions.

if you are looking at this to learn pay close attention to 6:50 make sure you leave from 4 to 6 inches of pipe on either side of the valve. if that male adaptor has to be replaced you will have room to do so. also if you can DONT USE threaded valves male adaptors are the weakest fittings prone to breaking right at the threads. best way to use a threaded valve is sch 80 nipples cut and glued to couplings. particularly on larger valves. good luck
this look so complex... all I was thinking get a 3 4 HP pump then the PVC pipeing connections with those things that the water comes out here and there or where ever I need to water then connect water supply to the water pump and connect the PVC to the pump and there u go... now this is with codes and wires and stuff what is all that for...?

In most cities, the compression fitting used is illegal and is known to leak in a short period of time

Do I need an anti siphon valve for each zone? Or just one for the entire system? Lowe’s told me I need just one, and then a solenoid for each zone but Tampa codes require back flow prevention.

Its not that easy, you might get fustrated with it. And its not cheap either the machine to dig the trench is at least 100 for the day. Hope most people have a landscaping buddy or a pluming buddy to help out thats what i plan to do after this winter is over. Good luck everyone. on the plus side it does add value to your home =)
PVC isn't even used very much anymore, Polyethylene is now used
Where do you live? Poly is almost never used in Florida.
Poly pipe is for zone lines only as it should not be under constant pressure. Pvc should always be used for mainline.

I wish to have this kind of irrigation system but don't have money to have one I have enough land and I have so far enough water in a bore hole with enough l amount of water. The best fertile soil am in Africa Tanzania. please help me

I have no experience at all in irrigation, and I'm 18 years old. How do I go about getting a job in irrigation without any skills or experience.

Go find a job as an irrigation tech at a local full service landscape company or irrigation company. The larger companies will pay for your training to get your license, at least they do here in Texas, though not sure what licensing you need in your area.
1. Don't use a compression fitting to tap into the supply line. Glue it.
2. Don't use a PVC ball valve. The handles break because PVC becomes brittle over time. Use brass.
3. Use glue fittings as often as possible. Threaded fittings = more chances for leaks.
4. If your PVC cutters are leaving a burr, you need to sharpen/adjust them. You shouldn't need sand paper.
5. Glad you used primer on the supply line, but disappointed that you used clear PVC cement.
6. Let the PVC cement cure for a couple of hours before you turn the main water supply back on. Don't expose your glued fittings to pressure right away. This video would make a rookie believe they can turn the main back on immediately after gluing the ball valve.
7. The irrigation wire is suitable for burial, but don't do that...and telling people to tape it to the pipe???? WTF?
8. Threaded fittings - crank them tight. 1½ turns might not be enough. It depends on the fitting.
9. When applying primer/glue to the fittings on the valve, tilt the valve so nothing runs downhill into the valve. Gravity is just a theory, but it works virtually every time.
10. When building a manifold, space the valves 4" - 6" apart. One or more of the valves may fail at some point. Give the repair guy some room to work. Build the manifold on a solid, flat surface. That makes it easier to ensure they're all plumb. Don't 'eye-ball it' - they'll be crooked. Use a piece of wood. You're going to drip primer/glue. It'll stain concrete.
You say don't bury the wire. What then should one do with it? Why is taping the wire to the pipe a bad idea?
First of all, gloves should be worn. Secondly, it's not said why not to use pipe dope versus the teflon tape. Thirdly, the primer and solvent use was sloppy and wasteful; it's better to turn the dobber horizontal at the opening and spin it several times to get off the excess not needed to seal parts and to of course make the product last longer.

this is smack. don't use threaded tees, a normal tee will be just fine. don't double glue, just glue the pipe, not the tee. green glue for mains pressure / running into valves, blue for everything from the valve.

This is really not a good idea for folks to do on their own. There is a lot more planning involved. You really need to know about setting up zones, maintaining psi, and water flow(GPM).
